Ellen DeGeneres Holiday Ad 'Offends' Most Offensive Moms on the Planet (VIDEO)

Rant 52

ellen degeneres jcp commercialI'm starting to think that the moms of "One Million Moms" aren't actually moms at all. Because if they were moms, they would be way too busy to spend all their time whining and complaining about Ellen DeGeneres being JCPenney's spokesperson. That's right, the "moms" are at it again, bashing one of the kindest celebrities ever born (seriously, even Bill O'Reilly of Fox News defended DeGeneres the last time this happened), over an "offensive" Christmas-themed Penney's commercial featuring DeGeneres and a few elves in a diner.

You're probably wondering what could possibly be offensive about such a commercial -- does it turn into some kind of kinky fetish porno?! Not quite. Here's what OMM had to say (in their own grammatically clumsy way).

On their website, OMM posted the following message (it's since been taken down):

Since April, JC Penney's has not aired Ellen DeGeneres in one of their commercials until now. A new JCP ad features Ellen and three elves. JCP has made their choice to offend a huge majority of their customers again. Christians must now vote with their wallets. We have contacted JC Penney's several times in the past with our concerns, and they will not listen. They have decided to ignore our complaints so we will avoid them at all costs.

Wait, so it's offensive because ... oh, silly me! Because Ellen is gay. And OMM are all about protecting what they call "traditional" family values. And how are they supposed to shop for polyester pants with elastic waistbands when that ... that ... lesbian's face is everywhere they turn?! (Because what if the naughty thoughts came back? What would people say?! Oh, that Shirley. Such a nice gal until she caught "the gay" shopping for a pair of slacks at Penney's.)

Interestingly enough, OMM appears to be backpedaling on this one a little bit. They did remove the above blurb from their site, after all. Perhaps they feel like One Million Morons for slamming a fricken' Christmas commercial?! "We're not taking action, we're moving on," explained a spokesperson. Good, keep on moving and don't stop until you're One Million Miles away! Check out the "offensive" ad here.

Do you think "One Million Moms" should shut up about Ellen DeGeneres?

Fuckin wow. I was raised in a Christian houseold, and still hold many of thier values. HOWEVER, one of the MAJOR values is respect and tolerance for people different from yourself. Stop calling yourself Christian if you can't even handle seeing a lesbian on TV. You are nothing but a hipocritical bitch. Get over yourself and off your high horse. Some of my best friends are gay and lesbian, and guess what? They are better friends than most of  the Christians I know.

''caught 'the gay' '' might be the best thing i've read all day!! OMM are a horrible, horrible group. If you so far up your own ass that you cannot recognise that she too is a person, you don't deserve to be allowed intereact with other people.  I love Ellen, she's lovely and funny and generous, she's a fantastic spokesporson. If they can tell me EXACTLY what is wrong with her (and let's make it fun- they aren't allowed reference god, the bible, or religion) then maybe i *might* listen to them.

I love love LOVE Ellen and thought this commercial was hilarious! I hate how uptight OMM is and how intolerant they are. They're just a bunch of people with sticks up their asses who need to loosen up and start accepting people instead of bashing them.

Why don't these "moms" go after the women who pop out one kid after the other by different men?  What about the women who shack up with a man instead of getting married? Shouldn't they boycott any woman who has been divorced?  What about women who have a child before getting married?  And if we are going to get really traditional about it, why not boycott anyone who has had sex before marriage?

If you are going to scream from the rooftops about someone not having "traditional family values" it's only fair to attack everyone who doesn't uphold those values and not just gay people.

When ever I hear about OMM in the news or read anything, I laugh...alot because they are so ridiculous in their arguements!!  I LOVE JCP & wish I had more disposable income to shop there!  And I love Ellen too!!  And my 2 moms :)

Love Ellen!!

She's an inspiration to ALL women! OMM should be ashamed of themselves and they really should be proud JCP features such a successful and strong woman in their ads for their daughters to look up to.

This Christian loves Ellen, lol. I adore her. And all of this controversy just makes me love her more, and makes me more likely to shop at JCP.  It's OMM who is offensive, with their inability to even tolerate the presence or existence of those different than themselves.
