Adam Levine’s Honey Boo Boo Slam Makes Him Look Like a Big Bully

OMG 78

honey boo booSince its debut, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo has earned just as many foes as it has fans. The latest to slam the pint-sized pageant queen? Adam Levine.

The Maroon 5 frontman is appalled by the TLC mega hit. He's certainly not alone. Joy Behar skewered the 7-year-old on The View and Kris Jenner had a few snarky words about her reality TV competition. But Levine's recent comments are particularly vicious and brutal.

During an interview in the new GQ, he lashed out at the young star:

Seriously, Honey Boo Boo is the decay of Western civilization. Just because so many people watch the show doesn't mean it's good. So many people witness atrocities and can't take their eyes away from them, but that doesn't mean they're good. That show is literally the. Worst. Thing. That's. Ever. Happened.

Wow. He makes the show sound like it's on the same level as atrocities like war or human trafficking. He didn't stop there.

It's complete f**king ignorance and the most despicable way to treat your kids ... F**k those people. You can put that in the magazine: F**k those idiots. They're just the worst. Sorry, I'm so sensitive to that -- like, I don't know, man, it's upsetting. Just to clarify, I said, "F**k those people!"

Jeez Adam! Why don't you pick on someone your own size. Is it really necessary to slam little Boo Boo so maliciously? Yes, they are hill billy-ish and uncouth, but you can't deny they are a tight knit clan. Over two million viewers rabidly tune in, so they are resonating with a lot of people. And that's because this family is down-to-earth and honest about who they are. What's wrong with that?

So I have to wonder: is this harsh critique fair? Now I love Maroon 5's music, but the world isn't really a better place because of “Moves Like Jagger.” Watching that backwoods brood makes people laugh and we could all use a little levity these days. So come on, dude! Leave Honey Boo Boo alone!

Do you agree with Adam's comments?

Well someone needed to say it. I'm sorry but lets not pat these people on the asses and make them think we're watching them for ANY OTHER REASON than make fun of them! Least he had the balls to just come right out and say it!

Just so you know, he is right. It's absolutely appauling that they live that way, and act that way. Its horrible and a disgrace to that family! They shouldn't be on tv!

I absolutely agree with him. He's not bullying a 7-year old - he is disgusted by the way the family acts and raises their children. I am, too. That woman should be ashamed of herself for putting her child through the pageant circuit, feeding her caffeine & sugar all for the purpose of winning. That poor child is going to wind up on a pole one day & this disgusting country will have watched her get there.

He's right, and specifically was talking about the parents. I agree with him, and I'm not even a fan of his.

I agree with him completey. That show is the personification of everything that is wrong with this country.

If him and the rest of America think honey boo boo is the decay of western civilization they need to wake the f*ck up and look away from the tv for just a few seconds. They are not the worst thing to happen to America and anyone who thinks that is a dumb sh*t

I have to agree with everyone above me.

I understand why he feels that way. He isn't putting down the children. He is speaking about the parents. Some people feel that feeding your children nothing but crap is a form of abuse.  I wouldn't go that far but the mother and father of this bunch are definitely doing their children a great disservice by feeding them what they do and not teaching them basic manners that most of us are taught as toddlers. Forming healthy eating habits is much harder as an adult and having manners gets you much further in life. I do think this family loves each other very much but I would really love to see them start taking better care of their bodies so they can love each other for a long time.

I'm echoing everyone above.  He didn't insult the child.  He said he doesn't agree with the way she's being raised.  I don't either.  I refuse to let that show get any air time in my home.  It's vile.

Agree with everyone else... He's not slamming Alana(Please let's stop calling her that ridiculous nickname? :/) he's slamming her parents for, well, NOT BEING PARENTS.
