Waiting to find out who would take home the mirror ball trophy on the Dancing With the Stars finale last night had us all on the edge of our seats (Melissa Rycroft won, by the way) -- but there was also another burning question that we hoped would finally be answered as the All-Star season came to a close.
For crying out loud -- are Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy dating, madly in love, hooking up, or all of the above and then some?
I mean, we've all been watching these two at home with tongues wagging throughout the entire season, and it's kind of to the point where the speculation over the nature of their relationship is just too much to take. (Or at least it is for me. I'm dying, here.)
And that's why it was such a relief to finally get somewhat of a telling answer when DWTS host Brooke Burke Charvet questioned them about whether or not they're doing the dirty after the cameras stop rolling. (Ok, so she didn't exactly phrase it that way, but we all know that's what she meant.)
While Kelly managed to be pretty vague about the ridiculously strong bond she has with Val (she kept throwing the friend card at him), he found it harder to contain himself -- and I about died when he dropped the "L" word.
He said that he and Kelly have "unconditional love" for each other, and added that their relationship doesn't need to have a boyfriend/girlfriend label on it (so basically, it is what it is).
Um, if that isn't an admission that there is way more than friendship between them, then I don't know what is. Most people reserve the term "unconditional love" for their kids and their dogs, so whatever Kelly and Val have going on must be pretty damn once-in-a-lifetime worthy.
It will be pretty interesting to see where things go from here, especially since they just kicked off their post-DWTS press tour. I watched them on Good Morning America earlier today, and they seemed pretty coy about their relationship -- but that undeniable electricity still exists between them for sure.
C'mon, Kelly and Val -- don't leave us in the dark forever. Those of us who are living vicariously through your off-the-charts connection can't take the suspense any longer.
Do you think Val and Kelly are a couple, or is it all for the sake of the show?
