Channing Tatum May Be Sexy but That Doesn’t Mean He Should Play Christian Grey
There's no denying that Channing Tatum would make for a pretty hunky Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. In fact, he's currently a crowd favorite. The man was named People's Sexiest Man Alive, and hey -- he's even said he'd be up for the gig if his wife, Jenna Dewan, could be the Anastasia to his Christian (now that's a woman I wouldn't mind being for a day).
Here's the thing, though. With Channing actually being People's Sexiest Man this year, I think this makes the whole thing all too predictable. Shouldn't producers give someone else a chance to shine in the spotlight? Plus, there are a whole lot of past sexy men that would make a MUCH better Christian -- hands down.
Here -- let's examing a few highlights of Sexiest Man Alive winners from the last 10 years or so, shall we? Ben Affleck, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Matthew McConaughey, Ryan Reynolds. Wowza! The list is loaded with megahunks.
To be real -- if I had to choose one of 'em to be Christian, I'd have to admit that Johnny Depp has my vote. I know I know, not necessarily AS sexy as Channing with a stripper past, but here's the thing: Christian has this twisted side to him. We all know that Depp is AMAZING at bringing that twisted nature to the big screen (hello, Willy Wonka).
Johnny has most definitely got the skills and the sex appeal to play Christian, I'm just not sure who I'd cast opposite him as Anastasia. Maybe ... Scarlett Johansson? Or ooh! I vote Ashley Greene! Now that's one good looking duo.
When it comes down to it, it's not that I don't think Channing can do it, I just say that we've seen enough of him with his shirt off after Magic Mike. It's time to give another guy a chance.
Who would you rather see as Christian: Channing or Johnny?
