lisa vanderpump

The trailer for Lisa Vanderpump's spin-off is here. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star will carry her own show, Vanderpump Rules, that follows the goings on in her West Hollywood restaurant, SUR.

I'm a Lisa fan just like any other warm-blooded creature out there -- how could you not love someone so fabulous? How could you not die for someone who showed up to Kyle's daugther's birthday party in a green shirt dress, green aviators, and hot pink pumps?

But this spin-off, guys, it's kinda weird. It's not so much "Lisa" as it is "20-somethings with drinking problems." Check it out.

It's Hell's Kitchen mixed with The Hills with a twist of Melrose and a dash of the Real Housewives ... and I don't think it tastes that good.

First of all, it's clear that whatever staff she cast hired at SUR are all wannabe actors. They're actors trying to play real people on a reality show, and it's painful.

Lisa's role in the show is not entirely clear -- is she a motherly matriarch to her staff of slutty fuck-ups? Is she the tough-love boss who makes the occasional appearance in the kitchen to make sure her countertops aren't gleaming with gonorrhea? Is she the group's crazy older aunt who's ready to party at a moment's notice and doesn't give a damn about pesky business things like "gross margins" and "the health board"?

The only thing that's clear from this trailer is that there's not enough Lisa in the show. I have no idea why it's called Vanderpump Rules. It should be called the Fake Waiters of Beverly Hills, or Skanky Shirtless Servers on Sunset, or something along those lines that tells more of the story.

Point being, if Lisa's not going to be around that much, neither am I.

We'll get our first glimpse of Vanderpump Rules on January 7 during a two-hour-long episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

What did you think of the trailer?
