I wish beyond wishes that I could've been a fly on the wall of this meeting -- Kristen Stewart told MTV News that she, Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence, and Harry Potter star Emma Watson recently hung out together. All of them. Bella, Katniss, Hermione. Boom, boom, boom. Franchise, franchise, franchise. KStew didn't explain under what context they were shooting the shit, but I can only hope it was over bourbon in some secret society clubhouse in West Hollywood where Linda Carter's the bartender and Carrie-Anne Moss sulks in the corner.
Lest you think this means they're all three BFFs, lemme tell you that Kristen had to go and ruin our girl-power fantasy with a dig about Jennifer Lawrence's age.
KStew said of Jennifer:
She's so cool. I was a lot younger than her when I first sort of entered this world of franchise land, and I don't know, I guess we sort of both went, 'Wow, this is so weird.' We actually sat in a corner with Emma Watson as well, the three of us. We were like, 'Wow, this is strange. This is really cool.'
I guess I'm not really following the non sequitur there, about Jen's age? Maybe I've been watching too many episodes of the Real Housewives, but it seems like a jab to me. As in, remember who started this whole thing, bitch, type-burn. That said, sounds like Kristen's conveniently forgotten that it was actually Emma Watson who wins that game -- Emma signed on to the Harry Potter franchise at age 11. Kristen was 18 when she starred in the first Twilight movie back in 2008.
Jennifer and Kristen both assert there's no feud, but come on. There totally is. OK, so maybe feud isn't the right word ... but there's definitely some tension. And why wouldn't, or shouldn't, there be? If Kristen and Jennifer were both 22-year-old Olympians competing to bring medals home to their countries, it'd be understandable that they weren't best friends.
The movie business doesn't seem entirely dissimilar, says this woman who's never spent any time in the Hollywood nor Olympic scene. You gotta compete to bring home gold to the studio. It's a competitive industry -- I don't see why Kristen, Emma, and Jennifer should all be besties. They're allowed not to be.
But at the same time, if they're going to continue to hang out together, I wouldn't mind an invite next time. Bourbon's on me, ladies.
Do you think there's a feud going on between Kristen Stewart and Jennifer Lawrence?
