'DWTS' Recap: Sexy Threesomes Heat Up the Ballroom & Leave Us Wanting More

TV Addict 5

DWTS All-Star cast

Whoa! Was Dancing With the Stars fun to watch tonight or what? Since no one was eliminated last week, the contestants all had an extra day or so to practice this week's routines, and that additional day of sweat and tears obviously paid off.

I loved how the show kicked off with themed dances to honor our veterans and thank all of the brave men and women who serve in our military. And while the performances were short, they were definitely emotional and heartfelt.

But let's cut to the chase -- because the best part of tonight's episode of DWTS was the second half of the show, you know, when the threesomes took place.

(You can call 'em trios if you want, but I'm digging threesomes.)

First off, how freakin' sexy was Shawn Johnson's samba with Derek Hough and Mark Ballas? The whole tribal thing was just so primal and animal, you couldn't help but watch in complete awe of their every move. (Yes, Len Goodman, their dance really was amazeballs and deserved MUCH higher than a SEVEN, for crying out loud!)

And I thought Kelly Monaco's jive with Val Chmerkovskiy and Louis Van Amstel was hotter than hot too -- especially since there was some smoochin' going on. (Who else thinks Kelly and Val need to go ahead and admit to the world that they're totally in love? So cute.)

If I had to pick one more favorite out of all of tonight's threesomes, Melissa Rycroft's sexy dominatrix paso doble with Tony Dovolani and Henry Byalikov proved she has no problem taking charge and showing everyone who's boss.

I guess that brings us to who should go home this week, and even though she has a great attitude and keeps things light and fun, it's time for Kirstie Alley to turn in her dancing shoes. And since this is a double elimination, I guess I have to pick someone else to leave. Hmm. Maybe Apolo Ohno, simply because he was overshadowed by the other cast members tonight.

What did you think of the threesomes tonight? And whose dance was your favorite?

My favorite 3 some was Derek, Mark, and Shawn.  She is such an awesome dancer and she keeps getting better and better and with Derek and Mark helping to bring out the best in her I just can't believe anyone can't see it.  She is totally awesome and has so much talent, she deserves to get to the finals and I hope she wins it all!!  I love Derek's thinking out of the box and you are right Len needs to start looking and thinking OUT OF THE BOX!!!!

I guess I will have to watch them today here being about 6 to 8 hours ahead of your country.

Derek gets a lot of flack about being the judges golden boy and he can do no wrong in their eyes (and low scores from Len are usually written off as Len trying to look like he's being even handed).  I don't know if that's true, I pretty much like Derek and like watching him on the show but even those who think he's the favorite have to admit............that boy can choreograph his ass off!   Samba or not that dance was just great to watch.

Why is it that Carrie Ann completely ignored Kelly Monaco's lift in the first dance?  She's so picky about it with everyone else, but she never even mentioned it?  I do not understand why the judges fawn over Kelly.  She can do the dances, but she's not the least bit entertaining.  She never smiles.  She has no presence.  At this level, it's not just about being able to do the steps.  She and Kirstie (who is an excellent entertainer, at least) should go home.
