When the talk first popped up about Dancing With the Stars pro Cheryl Burke being the next Bachelorette, it really seemed like kind of a joke that would probably never have any real chance of happening. After all, she's the one who brought it up when she appeared on Bethenny back in June -- and she seemed like she was kidding.
But apparently the possibility of her trading in her dancing shoes for roses isn't off the table yet, because Cheryl admitted that she's talked to Bachelorette producers at ABC, so there must be a decent chance of her being the star of the show.
(Isn't it a beautiful thing when two reality TV shows collide?)
Ok, please tell me I'm not the only one rooting for this to happen -- because Cheryl being cast as the next Bachelorette sounds like an awesome and fresh idea to me.
Even though it makes for good ratings, fans are starting to get pretty sick of Bachelor rejects being put in the driver's seat. It's almost like watching the same show over and over again, except the girl in question is making out with a lot more dudes than she did the first time around. (Ick!)
But at the same time, viewers have gotten so used to going into each season of The Bachelorette already knowing a good bit about the lady in question, which definitely makes the show more enjoyable and easier to get hooked on.
By casting Cheryl, producers will get the best of both worlds. Fans will get their fresh face, but at the same time, they'll already feel like they know her (or at least people who watch DWTS will).
Maybe I'm going out on a limb here, but I just don't see how ABC can pass up this chance if Cheryl is willing to take it.
Would you watch Cheryl as The Bachelorette?
