Believe it or not, Cameron Diaz is 40! That's crazy! She looks at least ten years younger. Then again, who's to say what 40 looks like anyway? Most of the women I know who are 40 look ten years younger to me. But I digress ... The point is that Cam recently had no problem talking to Elle UK about all the fun and unconventional ways she torches calories to stay fit, including sex. Gasp!
When asked what burns more calories -- 30 minutes of dancing vs. 30 minutes of sex -- Cameron cheekily replied, "Depends on what kind of sex you’re having. Try ‘em both! Do them both on the same day, that’s what I say!" Ha. Love it.
Both in one day doesn't sound like a bad plan, but neither does "counting" sex as cardio. Of course it's something we just joke around with our girlfriends about. Or that Elle UK decides to ask Cameron Diaz for a spicy sound bite. But it's not that crazy! It does get your heart rate goin', after all -- something any personal trainer would approve of. Plus, remember Pauline Potter, the world's heaviest woman, who shed 100 pounds in 7 months by having epic sexathons?! She said she burned up to 500 calories a session. Impressive!
Still, in the end, Cam says she hopes people don't use her habits as a template for their own regimens, being that everyone's different. She said:
It’s not about what I eat or do what I do. It’s really about the information, so that young girls and women can look at it and make their own choices. I’d hate to give them guidelines of what I do.
Good for her! But Cameron shouldn't worry so much ... At the very least, her wink, wink tip on "sexy cardio" is one all woman should feel free to follow!
