Are You Too Old to See 'Breaking Dawn Part 2'?
I admit that as a 30-something mom of four, I rolled my eyes when I heard about the Twilight saga movies. Even though I hadn't seen them, I figured HBO's True Blood was more my speed. Plus Alexander Skarsgard is much more my kind of vampire than Robert Pattinson. Pants, er, hands down.
But just recently I decided to take the plunge and see what all the Twilight hype was about. And, well, let me just say, I was completely wrong. And I feel as giddy as a school girl over the upcoming The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2.
I've seen all sorts of hot sex scenes with equally hot celebrities in various movies that I have secretly stashed in my house, but I must say that the sexual tension between Bella and Edward in the first Twilight movie was insane. Then in walked Jacob's bright smile and abs, and, well, now I totally understand the craze.
In fact, I think I might have drooled a bit.
I do feel a bit naughty coveting a high school student, but as someone who's staunchly in the Team Edward camp, I keep telling myself that Robert Pattinson wasn't really a teenager.
That makes it okay, right?
Although the teenage angst, slow-moving camera shots, and tons of silence can get a little annoying, I actually like that there's not an overwhelming amount of violence -- which seems to be a real rarity these days.
And for not having any sex -- yet, anyway, since I haven't made it to Breaking Dawn Part 1 -- it's a pretty darn sexy movie.
But really, something about it just makes me feel young again, like I'm back in high school, where there are sexy vampires and werewolves trying to win my affection. Rowr.
Do you think there's an age limit on the Twilight movies?
