Robert Pattinson’s 'Breaking Dawn 2' Sex Talk Comes Off Like a Cold Shower

Flicks 13

Breaking Dawn 2One of my pet peeves about actors promoting their not-yet-released movies is when they get into the nitty-gritty of how certain scenes were filmed. I know, it's dumb, but I like to hear about all the nerdy trivia stuff after I see the movie, not beforehand, so as to have a better shot at getting absorbed in the fantasy of it all. And, okay, it's not like I personally had those sort of expectations for Breaking Dawn 2 -- I think the Twilight movies are awful THERE I SAID IT -- but for the billions of fans who can't wait to get swept away by the long-awaited moment of Bella and Edward hooking up as vampires for the very first time … well, I'm a little surprised at how Robert Pattinson described shooting the Big Romantic Scene.

Here's your chance to click away and preserve your poetic faith in the insanely hot vampire-boosted sex between Bella and Edward -- otherwise, read on for what was REALLY going on as cameras were rolling:

According to Pattinson (who I am totally not referring to as R-Patz since he's made his feelings about this moniker pretty clear, having recently stated that "I would like to break the hands and mouth of the person who came up with it") (Although that sort of makes me want to use it more, because OH POOR BABY ARE YOU SO INSANELY POPULAR THE PUBLIC GAVE YOU AN AFFECTIONATE NICKNAME?), filming those intimate moments for Breaking Dawn 2 wasn't quite as pleasurable as it's meant to look onscreen:

The sex scene in this one is pretty ridiculous. It's just because you're kind of shooting stuff to be PG-13, and so it's just trying to think of inventive ways to try to make something sexy. It also can't just be a normal sex scene. It's supposed to be about, like, the greatest vampire sex you've ever had. So a lot of it was just closeups on me and Kristen's faces, but there was no one else there. (…) You literally try and give a face of ecstasy...Guys' faces I don't think are really designed to do that. The cameraman was laughing as well.

I'm sure he was just being modest and sharing something that was both funny and a legitimate challenge, but dude, way to kill the suspension of disbelief. I mean, regardless of how smoldering the scene might appear in the movie -- within those stifling PG-13 confines, of course -- you're going to know what really went into it: the actors nowhere near each other, and a cameraman slapping his knee and braying big hee-haws of laughter at Robert Pattinson's cheesy "O" face.

Anyway, sorry if I deflated your Twilight boner with this thrilling bit of news. Maybe that much-rumored spinoff show will be a little more … adult-oriented.

Do you think it was a bad move for Robert Pattinson to describe how unsexy the Breaking Dawn 2 sex scenes actually were?

Wish those lego's would get imbedded in your fingers instead of your feet.  Then you couldn't type  stupid remards and do bad reporting anymore.  Get a new job away from your boys I'm sure they would love to have a break from you.

I am SO OVER Twilight.  It's a mediocre novel series, a less than mediocre movie trilogy, and WAY less than mediocre actors.  Laughable, at best.

WAIT!!! Breaking dawn 2 will be PG13 with a sex scene? Even if they don't show anything just the innuendo isn't right for kids to see...seriously conserve a child's morality...that is why I didn't let my kids watch BD1...I on the other hand do enjoy the movies

Melissa Olson Sully

OMG! if you read the books then you know there is a sex scene in it - get over it! you are the parent and need to decide what your children watch and do not watch. and of course this amazing sex scene will be lacking and leaving us wanting more just as the one in BD1 did. the studio exec's are so money hungry that they are willing to chop a scene to nothing to make more $. i just wish there were extras on the dvd so we could see the potential this scene could have had. i love the books and the story but i am getting a little tired of all the crap surrounding this series.

I wouldn't even be letting kids watch the moives..anyone under like 14-15 shouldn't be all caught up in romance and sex just yet..just saying..and the movies are more intuned to it than the it sucks that again they are just gonna blow this. But I am still a HUGE MASSIVE TWILIGHT fan..its not the best book ever made but I still love it!! LOVE LOVE IT!!

I'm just glad I never invested my time to watch these movies....I won't watch anymore of those movies. They should have picked a better Bella, then it could have had potential.

I am so sick of people coming on here and reading an article just to complain about it in a lame way. There are plenty of other sites out there where people are happy to go back and forth with you and while you waste your time bashing people. Those of us who want to read mostly filler want to do it without all the negativity. And Terri, what you are insinuating is incredibly rude and stated completely unimaginatively.
