uma thurmanUma Thurman may be getting a lot of flak for her new baby's War and Peace-length name -- which, for the record, is actually Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson ... wow -- but the actress still has plenty of loyal fans! Fans who are currently rooting for her to take on a starring role in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie ...

The beautiful blonde cougar who is said to have introduced Christian to BDSM when he was a teen, Elena Lincoln aka "Mrs. Robinson," of course! And the wishful casting not only makes a lot of sense, but would be a major coup for Fifty Shades filmmakers.

After all, Uma's got acting chops like whoa. (Truthfully, the only other quite acclaimed, A-list talent I've heard thrown around for the film thus far is obviously Ryan Gosling.) And she's no stranger to playing the seductress. As Bel Ami co-star Robert Pattinson said about Uma:

[Working with her was] a pretty crazy experience. Her role was someone more intelligent, more charming, wittier and better in bed than me. Which was obviously very difficult to cast.

Hello, sounds JUST LIKE ELENA, eh?! Uma was also recently cast in Lars von Trier's super-hyped, uber-sexy film Nymphomaniac, which will also star Shia LaBeouf and will feature real on-screen sex. Furthermore, she has a long-standing history of taking on bold roles in risque films. Back in 1990, she was the leading lady in the first-ever NC-17 film, Henry & June.

So, as far as I'm concerned, it's pretty much a given that she'll at least be considered for the role. After that, guess we'll just have to see if she's interested in stepping into Mrs. Robinson's stilettos.
