So Jay-Z has apparently had it with Chris Brown's stomach-twistingly disgusting treatment of Rihanna! Rumor has it the elder rapper took young punk Brown aside at a recent show and gave him a warning: Hurt Rihanna again, physically or emotionally, and he's “finished." Hey, I think we can all agree Brown had that one coming, right? But some people actually seem to believe Jay-Z is being "overprotective." And do you know what I have to say to those people?
GOOD! Let Jay-Z go ahead and be overprotective! Because it's about damn time Rihanna had a man in her life willing to stand up for her safety and well-being. I mean, it's not like that gem of a father she's got ever chased any potential suitors off the property with a shotgun (metaphorically speaking). Considering how he's failed to step up to the plate in the past ...
There was the time Rihanna's daddy dearest called her fat:
"I actually thought she was a little fat the last time I saw her. When I saw her at this year's Grammys, I thought she was back to her normal size. I used to joke with her, 'Robyn, you're getting too fat.' But I think she's fine. I think she looked excellent, as everyone saw, at the Grammys. She's dieting, she's working out.''
Oh my god, why not just disown your disappointment of a daughter?! A LITTLE FAT?? For the love of god! Chris Brown, on the other hand? He can do no wrong in Rihanna's father's eyes, apparently. Dad's all for a reunion:
"I think everyone makes mistakes and they shouldn't be held to them forever. Everyone should be forgiven once ... I love Chris, man. He's got so much charisma. And he's always had so much respect for me. That's what I love about him. He's always shown me respect."
I can't believe that man didn't burst into flame upon daring to utter the word "respect" (let's not forget that Rihanna told Oprah she grew up watching her dad beat her mom).
Rihanna's taste in men ain't exactly a mystery, is it? Maybe Jay-Z should just adopt the poor girl.
Do you think Rihanna needs a man like Jay-Z in her life?
