Last night's feisty VP debate teed up some stark economic and social policy choices, and now it's up to President Barack Obama and GOP rival Mitt Romney to battle it out in the final stretch of the presidential election. With less than a month to go, the stakes are higher than ever -- and the endorsement from a prominent, respected public figure can make all the difference in the world in shifting campaign dynamics.
That's why this breaking news is such an enormously important moment in a highly competitive presidential run: Mitt Romney has received an endorsement from one of our country's most influential voices. That person is, of course, Lindsay Lohan.
It was just four years ago that Lindsay Lohan eloquently described Obama’s Presidential victory as “amazing,” but it seems the carefree young actress has changed her mind in recent years. Last night at one of Los Angeles's high-profile political events, the Mr. Pink Ginseng Drink Launch Party, Lohan issued a powerful statement to reporters:
I just think employment is really important right now. So, as of now, Mitt Romney. As of now. It's a long story.
I can only imagine that Mitt Romney is over the moon, because there's no doubt that Lindsay Lohan is an electoral force. Not only will her stirring words likely galvanize any remaining undecided voters, but she lends a true sense of trust and credibility to the Romney campaign.
Lohan joins a number of other incredibly influential celebrities who have endorsed Romney, including Chuck Norris:
We will preserve for our children this last best hope for man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness.
We need a change. I'm just waiting for someone to take the lead and run.
Clueless's Stacy Dash, who referred to Romney as "The only choice for your future" while tweeting the following patriotic image:
And, of course, William Tapley, "Third Eagle of the Apocalypse" and Denver International Airport Phallic Symbol Alarmist, who recorded this amazing victory song:
In conclusion, I for one am eager to more of Lindsay Lohan's political beliefs and I'm thrilled she's speaking out on behalf of young people everywhere. A vote from Lindsay is, after all, a vote for a better world.
What do you think of Lindsay Lohan's Romney endorsement?
