Filming 'GoT' Season 3If you're a Game of Thrones fan, obviously you know who George R.R. Martin is. (And if you don't, um, really?) As the creator and writer of the series, you know, the dude who thought up this crazy, awesome world, he's got a certifiable hit on his hands with the books and HBO show. And with all the hype surrounding season 3, premiering March 31 (wah), we have some awesome news for Game of Thrones fans.
To catch you up, there's a shit ton of excitement for season 3 because the third book, A Storm of Swords, was so amazing. Now that the third book will be officially split into two seasons, we found out that George R. R. Martin will be penning the seventh (out of ten) episode. The title of the episode is called "Autumn Storms," and the question on every fan's mind is: WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!
So here are the extremely vague hints and sneak peek Martin gave about this seventh episode:
I wrote the 7th episode (3×07), called "Autumn Storms". I know the title is not as brilliant as "Blackwater: (2×09), which was certainly good, but it was the best name I could come up with. At least, there are a number of autumn storms and it’s raining a lot in that chapter.
Gahh, that's it, dude?? A lot of autumn storms and rain?! If you ask me, this couldn't be the Red Wedding, you know, when all hell breaks loose -- it's just too soon if they're splitting up the third season into two. Though he did say some plot from A Feast of Crows and A Dance With Dragons will most likely show up in that fourth season, so who knows what the timing could possibly be like?
Obviously so much more goes on in the third book than the Red Wedding, like Jon Snow turning on the Wildings (there's a storm when he and Bran Stark almost cross paths), Lord Balon Greyjoy's death (there's a huge storm when he dies), Tyrion Lannister marrying Sansa Stark, Tyrion's trial, Daenerys Targaryen buying the Unsullied, Arya Stark traveling with the Hound, holy crap do they have a lot to get through. But it's all going to be so, so good. I can't wait!
So, well, overall, I haven't helped in the slightest in terms of figuring out what "Autumn Storms" could be about ... sorry about that. But I do think it's too soon for the Red Wedding, so I'm guessing it's either the storm surrounding Balon's death or when Jon and Bran almost meet. Why Martin chose to pen this episode also remains a mystery, since he chooses ones that tend to be rather plot- and action-heavy, and I can't believe I have to wait so long to find out. Winter is coming, after all!
