Call her the "Sexiest Woman Alive" -- but don't call her conservative. In Esquire's interview with Mila Kunis, the actress doesn't hold back on her political views. She's fairly passionate about politics, in fact. She told the magazine:
The way that Republicans attack women is so offensive to me. And the way they talk about religion is offensive. I may not be a practicing Jew, but why we gotta talk about Jesus all the time? And it's baffling to me how a poor person in Georgia can say 'I'm a Republican.' Why?
Whoa, there's a lot going on there! The Republican war on women, the mix of church and state, poverty and politics. This is a far cry from the usual patter about favorite moisturizer and working on your "craft." If you think someone like Mila shouldn't be talking politics, think again.
"Some people don't like to hear celebrities talk about politics," her interviewer says. "I don't think I'm a celebrity," Mila shoots back. "I'm a working actress. I think there's a difference." I think there's probably a big distinction between the two for someone, like Mila, on the inside. For the rest of us on the outside, it's kind of splitting hairs.
But this comes up all the time, whenever a movie star goes political after winning an Oscar, whenever stars show up in political ads, whenever Luke Skywalker rants about Robot Romney -- public people, even the ones who put on costumes and act in front of cameras, have opinions about politics. Some of them like talking about those opinions. And honestly, I kind of like it when they do that.
It makes me feel like there's something going on beneath the actor's surface. I don't even care if I agree with them -- I still love ya, Clint Eastwood! I just think it's fun when they get into the mix. Actors aren't blank slates -- er, well, not all of them anyway. Mila says she watches CNN and MSNBC all the time. She was actually excited to meet Wolf Blitzer! Call me a dork (and obviously I'm not Esquire's target audience), but I think being political just makes Mila all the more sexier. And I bet a lot of guys out there would agree with me. Well, as long as their politics agree with Mila's.

People who put on costumes and act in front of cameras should keep their mouths shut about politics. And since when did Mila Kunis win an oscar???
She can say whatever she'd like, but it would certainly make her look less like a fool if she put even a minute effort into informing herself before she did. Haven't we oft heard repeated the refrain 'better to be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt'?

I don't have a problem with celebs talking politics. It is a free country and they are citizens of it. But when they are this stupid? Just stand there with your shirt off and shut up!

Perhaps if she is so baffled as to why "a poor person in Georgia" would be a Republican, she might take some time to come down here and speak to a few, get to know them, hear what they want out of life and what they expect and don't expect from their government. Just a thought.
If she's allowed to voice her opinion that she finds all of that nonsense offensive, then I'm allowed to say I find her comment about "poor Republicans in Georgia" offensive.
