What a problem to have, y'all -- random people wanting to buy you a new house. That's just what Honey Boo Boo and her family seem to be facing these days, however, as Rosie O'Donnell is the latest deep-pocketed fan to step forward to say she wants to buy the stars of the hit TLC show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo a new house.
This comes on the heels of news last week that TLC wants to buy them a new dwelling place, which Mama June didn't seem so keen on. She said she wanted to keep her family grounded and right there next to the train tracks, thank you very much. That seemed understandable and noble even as taking a house from TLC would have seemed a little too much like signing their lives over to the network.
But a house from Rosie? That sounds like something they might want to consider.
First of all, Rosie seems downright smitten with Alana and the whole Thompson family, not because they're putting money in her pocket, but because she finds them brilliant. In a People video, she put on her best accent and professed her love for the clan.
More from The Stir: Honey Boo Boo’s Family Turns Down a Fancy House. Now That’s Class.
“I love Mama June. I love Sugar Bear. I love Chubbs,” she said. Then she went on to offer some exceptionally high praise for Alana:
I think that little girl, Honey Boo Boo, she is like Shirley Temple. She has a presence and an intellect that goes way beyond her years.
I think that might be taking things a little too far, and I'm really wondering what Ms. Temple thinks about that, but it's clear she's gaga for the family and wants to help them succeed. She then went on to channel Oprah and made the big offer. “I’d love to meet them and buy them a house,” she said.
Assuming she's serious (and she better be if she's putting it out there like that), they should really at least consider it this time. This is their opportunity to seize, and as we know, fame and fortunate are fleeting things. People aren't going to offer to buy them houses forever, and their salaries are only going to go so far. Also let's face it, Alana is already 7; watching her squish her belly fat is only going to be cute for so much longer.
They might as well strike while the proverbial iron is hot, and do what they can to secure a solid future for themselves. O'Donnell is an industry veteran who could offer them some good advice and insight ... and floor plans. They're so profoundly who they are that I'm not worried that a little new carpet, tile and space is going to change them. It will just give them more room to stock up when there's a big sale on cheese balls.
Oh, and note to Alana -- "On the Good Ship Lollipop" would be a perfect routine for your next pageant.
Do you think Honey Boo Boo's Family should accept a house from Rosie O'Donnell?

if what you write is true.i found an ounce of respect for june for denying tlcs offer.
See, I think there might be another reason she denies taking the homes. Part of the "allure" of the show is her living the way she does. If she goes and moves to a 5,000 foot square house, maybe the reality show won't seem so real and down to earth. I think it's about the paydays.
Why not offer to remodel the house their in
"Squishing he belly fat is only going to be cute for so much longer"
"More room to stock up when there's a big sale on cheese balls"
Seems like you're not quite as smitten with them as Rosie is, eh?
Keltic, please dont attack a child. You have been the voice of reason many times on being mean. This little child is not that bad. I happen to think she is smart and the things she comes up with at that age, is funny. The family loves each other, and they stick by each other. Sugar Bear loves all those kids, even though Alana is his only blood. Did you see the last episode when they bought home Kaitlyn. The love that family has for each other is wonderful. They might not raise their kids like us, but they love each other.
