One of the most underrated flicks of 2011 by far has to be Crazy, Stupid, Love. starring Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Ryan Gosling, and Emma Stone. And I swear, not just because I'm one of those women who is so transfixed by Ryan that I'd rave about him starring in a car commercial. (I swear!) The flick was just so well-written and well-acted. Admittedly, another aspect that made it kick-ass was the on-screen chemistry between Ryan and Emma. And I swore he'd never be able to replicate the off-the-charts sparks he had Rachel McAdams! But -- no, really -- Ryan and Emma were seriously hot together.
So, really, it's no wonder there are Fifty Shades of Grey fans out there campaigning for these two to be Christian and Anastasia in the upcoming flick. There's even a new fan-made teaser trailer starring them that makes a really convincing case for their joint casting. Check it out ...
Okay, I guess if you are more of a Team Somerhalder or Team Lucy Hale kinda gal, this wasn't really doing much for you, but anyone who melts for Ryan Gosling had to be all over it, right? Those eyes! That raw magnetism! That acting ability! Yeah, okay, so I obviously think the guy has what it takes to pull off an uber-dramatic role much better than some of these guys who only so far have cheesy TV credits to their name. Sorry, but Ryan's track record speaks for itself. Not to mention that pairing him with Emma as Ana would clearly be sexxxxyyyy.
But, as awesome as it would be to see the pair cast in these coveted roles, I'll be the first to admit I don't see it happening. After what E.L. James said about Ryan starring in the film, it's up in the air whether he's a possibility for Christian anymore. And even if he was, I just can't see them casting Emma Stone as his Ana. She's not innocent enough, you know? Much more Katharine Kavanaugh than Anastasia Steele. And if they were going to go with two actors who already had chemistry on the big screen, it would obviously be Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson or Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder, right? Too bad. Ahh well, a RyEmma fan can dream ...
Do you agree Ryan and Emma's on-screen chemistry would make them a fantastic Christian and Ana?
