The teen bride and her skeezy wrangler have debuted on a reality show, folks, and it's high time we gave them some attention for it. The second season of VH1's Couples Therapy premiered last night, and on it, Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchison revealed some pretty intimate things, like how Courtney's stomach is so flat you could cook on it ... (crickets) ... and how Courtney's nickname for Doug is "dad."
Aww, isn't that adorbs, you guys? Courtney, 18, calls her husband, Doug, 52, "dad"! That's not creepy. That's not creepy or weird or exactly what you'd expect at all.
Doug doesn't think it's disturbing in the least, and laughs it off saying, lol, it's like he's raising his wife, lol.
It doesn't take a degree in psychology or even a total of three brain cells to realize that Courtney and Doug are living out some twisted daddy/daughter issues and have taken dysfunctional to an entirely new level. This isn't a partnership of two equals, this is a sex-fest of emotionally stunted people who will never help each other break an unhealthy pattern of reliance and submissiveness.
Not that I ever thought they were really in love, or that this would last, or that Courtney wasn't anything but Joaquin Phoenix in drag, but this "dad" nickname is just, like, the goddamn cherry on top of the shit sundae. Of course she calls him "dad," of course he doesn't mind, of course, of course, of course.
