I don't care who you are -- it's pretty hard not to absolutely love Chelsea Handler. She's nothing short of a total riot, and every time I hear her speak, I get a little bit jealous that I can't be quite as witty or quick thinking as she is. (We'd totally be BFFs if we met IRL. I swear.)
And you've gotta love that Chelsea lacks any sort of a filter, which is a quality that many people find pretty endearing. (Or at least I do.)
And that's why I couldn't wait to hear what she had to say about Fifty Shades of Grey -- because I knew she'd speak her mind and tell the truth without one ounce of restraint or hesitation. She and Piers Morgan got right down to business and had a lively discussion about the erotic dose of fiction that has swept the nation -- and Chelsea hit the nail right on the head when it came to perfectly summing up every last steamy word.
Take a look at this video clip to hear what she had to say.
OMG. FINALLY someone isn't afraid to tell it like it is and admit that Fifty Shades of Grey is one of the worst pieces of writing to ever hit bookstore shelves! (Yes. It. Is. Don't even try and argue with me, or with Chelsea Handler for that matter.)
Honestly, all she really had to say is, "It's a piece of trash" to win my applause. For the life of me, I just can't understand how anyone can be remotely entertained by this book, and like Chelsea, I find myself questioning the intelligence of people who say they actually like it. And if I had to guess, I'd say there are quite a few people who feel exactly the same way -- but aren't willing to admit it because everyone who's anyone is totally gaga for Fifty Shades of Grey.
But maybe Chelsea can start a new trend of people actually being honest about their feelings when it comes to all things Fifty Shades. I mean, liking something simply because everyone else does is pretty lame, and I highly doubt Chelsea will lose any fans over the fact that she's not into reading about being spanked, tied up, and/or hit as a means of foreplay. (It's ok to go against the grain people. Just admit it already -- you think Fifty Shades of Grey is a "piece of trash" too.)
Be honest, did you really enjoy Fifty Shades of Grey? And if so, why?
