Well, it's official -- everyone and their mother have hopped on the Fifty Shades of Grey bandwagon. And when I say everyone, I do mean everyone -- even one of the members of the biggest boy band sensation to hit the music industry since The Backstreet Boys and N'Sync.
Yes, Harry Styles of One Direction admits that he's read Fifty Shades of Grey (because he was "forced to" by a female friend) -- and (try not to be just a little bit creeped out) he's into it. In fact, he found the book so interesting that he thinks he can learn an thing or two from it. (Lock up your daughters, ladies.)
Harry called Fifty Shades "an educational and interesting read," which certainly makes it sound as if he's taking notes from some of the more explicit scenes so he'll better know how to romance the girls. (Yikes!)
Ok, let me pause for a second before I go any further. I can't decide what's more humiliating -- the fact that I know who Harry Styles is without having to google him, or the fact that the idea of his 18-year-old self reading the infamous "bathtub scene" in Fifty Shades of Grey has me wanting to go all "mom" on him and tell him to put the book down and savor holding hands and smooching and all that innocent stuff instead of thinking he has to have Christian Grey moves to make young women happy. (Sigh.)
I mean, one minute he's singing about how he loves women who "don't know they're beautiful," and before we know it, he'll have to switch up the lyrics to something like, "The way that you bite your lip gets me overwhelmed," or something to that effect.
(And then tween girls everywhere will be all confused and have no idea what he's talking about and One Direction won't be considered a boy band anymore.)
Seriously, what is this world coming to?!? First Justin Bieber claims to have been offered a role in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, and now Harry Styles is getting in on the erotic action too. (Who's next? Wait -- don't answer that. I don't wanna know.)
Are you surprised at just how many people are all hyped up over this book?
