How much do I love Amy Poehler, let me count the ways. I love that she went with a plunging V-neck dress to the Emmys (with sparkles, too!), I love that she wore a $2 toy ring her son picked out, and I love that she and Julia Louis-Dreyfus worked together on their Emmy acceptance speeches. Both women were nominated for best actress in a comedy series along with Tina Fey, Edie Falco, Lena Dunham, Melissa McCarthy, and Zooey Deschanel ... and while Julia Louis-Dreyfus won the trophy for her role in HBO's Veep, Amy didn't exactly walk away empty-handed.
OK, take that back, she totally walked away empty-handed, but she absolutely deserved something -- a bag of Twizzlers, a bottle of champagne, a sticker, anything -- for her comedic performance last night. Amy stole the show.
When Julia got to the mic to give her Emmy acceptance speech, she started out by thanking NBC, Parks & Rec, and her beautiful boys Archie and Abel. It was then when Amy ran to the stage to switch speeches with Julia, since they'd obviously "gotten them mixed up".

Julia wrapped up her speech by saying it was a real shame Amy didn't win, then the camera cut to Amy in the audience, holding a pencil, mouthing "it's a real shame" over and over.
You guys it was hilarious. It was! That said, I don't know if I laughed extra hard at the gag, wanting Amy to somehow hear my raucous, too-loud cackles through the TV so that she would know that she's amazing, that even though she and Will Arnett did't last, that Amy and her fans will last forever. Forreevvverrr.
I can take or leave a naked Lena Dunhan eating cake on a toilet, but an Amy and Julia sketch? That's gold, and it was easily the funniest thing that happened last night.
