Brutally Honest Britney Spears Makes 'X Factor' Worth Watching (VIDEO)

TV Addict 4

britney spears judging on the x factorThe one reason most people tuned into the premiere of X Factor's second season last night? Britney, b*tch!!! We know Simon Cowell is attitude personified, and most people are totally indifferent to Demi Lovato and L.A. Reid, so clearly, what most people -- and, as it turns out, contestants! -- were looking forward to was seeing how Spears fared as a judge ... Was she going to be totally out of it? A diva? A trainwreck?

The verdict is in and ... she was, well, all of the above. Not so much a trainwreck, but girl's definitely lacking the glimmering personality she once had. At times, she seemed really removed or spaced out -- likely the result of whatever prescription drugs she's taking. But hey, so what? Paula Abdul was the same way, and she was still a ball of fun to watch! As it turns out, so is Britney.

Surprisingly (or not so surprisingly), she proved she can be really harsh with contestants who are, well, clearly all wrong. For instance, to a 50-year-old airline baggage handler who sang "Candy Girl," she said, "I want to know who let you on stage. I feel uncomfortable with you even staring at me." And it was hilaaaarious!

At the same time, she could be sweet and openminded, telling the "Like a Virgin"-costumed drag queen Quatrelle, "You were off key a little bit, but for the most part, you’re really entertaining!" And sympathetic, like when she had to face Don Philip -- with whom she did a duet on her first album -- and tell him that his singing just "wasn't up to the bar of the standards of X Factor and what we want." Granted, she also looked super-uncomfortable through his tense, emotional audition, but who could blame her?

The fact of the matter is that, even dulled-down by meds, Brit Brit's the most entertaining aspect of the show. Like she told one contestant, she's been performing -- and succeeding in entertainment! -- since she was eight years old, so if anyone should know what'll fly in the pop world, it's her. In fact, this gig may have been made for her. And if any judge can help it rise to the top of the competition show heap, it'll be Brit.

Check out this video for more on how Brit might be the show's toughest judge yet ...

I watched it for the first time ever last night...and I thought she was completely fair...and I didn't think she was "spaced out" at all...favorite part? When those blond b**ches were talking crap about all the other contestants back stage (including that drop-dead gorgeous girl who went first) and then got her hot-mess ass handed to her by the judges...loved it!

^ Oh, come on. You know the writers here are so negative. They'll kick anyone who is doing well. Britney didn't seem "spaced out" to me either. I love her personality and her sense of humor. She has charm that a lot of stars lack. I don't know what you were watching, but it clearly wasn't X-Factor. Her job is to LISTEN while the contestants are singing.

I've never been a huge Britney fan, but have more respect when she said something like how, if she were in their position, she'd rather someone be honest and not drag it out. Can't remember exactly what she said, but that was the gist, and it's SO true. What's the point of putting someone through if they suck? Just because you feel bad? You aren't a very good "judge" then if you aren't being honest, right?

I dnt understand why they choose her to judge other people when she cant even sing that good herself.
