Kim Kardashian has said some ridiculous things in her day, but this quote just might take the cake. The 31-year-old reality star recently compared her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries ... to an 18-year-old girl with cancer.
During an interview with The Guardian, Kim was asked if she felt pressure to get married to Humphries in order to keep her audience engaged, and -- brace yourself -- here was her answer:
Kim said: "Not really. We had done filming our season at that point, so we decided to film for the wedding. And that was a decision that he and I made together. But I think that, with any decisions in life, like, I spoke to a girl today who had cancer and we were talking about how this is such a hard thing for her, but it taught her a big lesson on who her friends are and so much about life. She's 18. And I was like, that's how I feel."
WOW. I mean, Kim is oft a joke in the media -- for being, well, a media whore and famous for nothing specific -- but at the end of the day, it always kind of seemed like she was in on the joke. Okay, maybe not always, but sometimes. I mean, she has poked fun at herself in the past. But this quote -- which was clearly not remotely well-thought out and was obviously a failed attempt at letting the reporter know she was just spending time with sick kids -- shows how far removed from reality Kim is. Even though "reality" is her business. Damn. Where's Kris Jenner when you need her?

She was not comparing cancer to divorce. She's just saying she's learned a lot of the same lessons. I'm not a fan, but people can be ridiculous about sensationalizing the most trivial things.
You took what she said out of context. I am not a kim k. fan at all.
It's not taken out of context... she was stating that her life struggles have taught her that life is hard, as has the life struggles of that of an 18 year old girl with cancer. However, what Kim K fails to realize is that she chose this life and she chose to get married to the guy- sure she felt pressured, but she was an adult with the choice.
That's a slap in the face for the poor girl, nearly half Kim's age, struggling with an illness that could potentially KILL her... and didn't have a choice in the matter.
What a dumbass.
