The seemingly innocent young woman whose picture accompanies this article has been declared the most dangerous celebrity on the Internet. Yes, don't let her fresh-faced appearance fool you, because Emma Watson could ruin your life! Or at least your credit rating.
According to security firm McAfee, Watson tops an intriguing list of celebrities whose names are being used to lure web-searchers into sites that are laden with malicious password or identity-stealing software. Emma Watson's name is so dangerous, you have a one-in-eight chance of hitting a malware site by searching for her.
Frankly, I'm not even sure you should be surfing this post. (PS: I HAVE THE PRIVILEGE TO REQUEST FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE TO TRANSFER THE SUM OF $47,500,000.00 INTO YOUR ACCOUNTS, PLEASE REPLY URGENTLY.)

Looking for news or photos about Hermione gives you more than a 12 percent chance of reaching a website loaded with spyware, adware, viruses, or phishing attempts, but there are plenty of other bad-search celebs. Apparently, you should also take extra caution when searching for Jessica Biel, Selena Gomez, Halle Berry, Megan Fox, Shakira, Cameron Diaz, Salma Hayek, and, in tenth place, Sofia Vergara.
It seems 2012 has been a banner year for the ladies, since not one man made it to McAfee's top 10 dangerous celebs list. In fact, the only dude who even made the top 20 was Jimmy Kimmel.
It's hard to figure what logic leads to the top 20 list, since the names aren't necessarily connected with the latest super-hot gossip. I mean, you'd think Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson would be the names most associated with spammy sites, but they aren't even on the top 50.
One thing is for certain, if you're looking for celebrity news, you should avoid unknown sites that have funky URLs -- and you definitely shouldn't go looking for naked photos. Adding "nude pictures" to any celebrity name search results in the highest number of websites that are up to no good, which should be a surprise to absolutely no one.
Maybe that's the silver lining, because I'm thinking that anyone who goes looking for nude photos of 22-year-old Emma Watson -- and apparently there are a SHIT-TON of people doing this -- kinda deserves to be hit with a shady website or two.
Are you surprised to hear about this list? More specifically, are you surprised Emma Watson is at the top of it?
