Kim Kardashian wants an Everlasting Gobstopper a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and she wants it now. And really, isn't it about time she gets one?
In a recent interview with V Magazine, she talked about why she wants one of the stars. She said that there's a quote somewhere that says reality stars will never get a coveted star, and since she's competitive, she'd like to be the first. "I would love to break that mold," she said.
Her comments comparing reality TV to rap music aside, she went on to make a pretty good case for the relevance of reality TV.
I think it’s fascinating, because [reality TV] is still entertainment, you know? It’s fun to see the progression of that idea. I don’t take offense to it at all. I’m not naïve to the fact that I’m not a singer or an actress or anything like that. I’ve never claimed to be anything that I’m not. I think [reality] is still a new form of entertainment that was kind of an unexpected thing.
No it's not traditional acting, but let's face it, there's plenty of acting when it comes to reality television, and it's one of the most popular genres of entertainment there is today. So why shouldn't it be acknowledged in Hollywood?
It's not like everyone who has a star is all that either. I mean, Tinker Bell, Judge Judy, and Rosanne Barr all have stars there for stars' sake. I'd say Kim is at least as deserving as any of them.
You don't have to like her, but it's hard to deny that KK has made a name for herself -- a huge name -- and her impact on the entertainment industry is undeniable. So why deny her and other reality stars this honor? It's time to change with the times, and a star for Kim could pave the way.

Sure there are a few goofy additions but the vast majority on the walk are stars that have EARNED it. They have put in DECADES into acting and dozens of [successful] movies. People like Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep, Anthony Hopkins.
And you want to put some bimbo who's famous purely for having a sex tape and being an idiot on camera? Great, let's put Jersey Shore and Honey Boo on walk too. Oh, and give them Golden Globes and Oscars because their acting is just sooooooooooooooooooooo lyke totally awesome!!

NKOTB and BSB I can see. Knock them, sure, they're goofy boppy boybands but they're also immensely successful. Backstreet Boys are the best selling boy-band of all time with over 130 million CDs sold. They're also the first artist since Sade to have their first seven albums reach Top 10 status and they've been around for 16 years. New Kids on the Block have sold 80 million worldwide which is amazing considering CDs didn't even exist whe they first came out in the 80s and have won two AMA awards. They've both spent years touring, releasing albums, releasing music videos, etc. They've earned it.
What has Kim K done compared to that? She's been around for about a year or so, released a sex tape and that's about it. Her family got a reality show to talk about multiple orgasms and lie about how natural they are when it's clear they all have more plastic than most Barbies. If she manages to last for another 15 years and get some sort of legitimate entertainment award THEN she might deserve it.
