'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' Recap: Kris Jenner Is Determined to Control Things From the Grave

by Julie Ryan Evans on August 19, 2012 at 10:47 PM

Kris Jenner and Kim KardashianFrom dead goldfish to coffin shopping, it was a big downer of a night on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Kris Jenner was leading the way with her new mission to plan every detail of her own funeral and those of her family members. Per usual, she was out of control and oblivious as to how her ridiculous mission was affecting her family.

Her intent was fine -- to make plans just in case so her family wouldn't be burdened if and when something happens to her or Bruce. It would be great if more people actually did the same. The problem was how she approached it and dragged the whole family into it -- treating it like a big party she was planning instead of the depressing event it would be. Instead of chicken or fish, she was asking cremation or burial. Instead of asking red wine or white, she wanted to know above ground or below. Not fun things to think about, especially for her kids who have already lost their father.

She's a control freak for sure, but at some point she's going to have to let go, and it would be nice if she figured it out before death demands she does.  Of course, you know she thinks there's probably a way she can figure to maneuver things from the grave if she does it just right.

The final straw came at the casket company.

She knew exactly what she wanted hers to look like -- black and shiny with white mother-of-pearl accents that looks like a baby grand piano. Then she actually climbed into a casket to test one out. It was so over-the-top -- even for her, even just for the sake of garnering some publicity -- and it made her kids extremely uncomfortable, understandably. It was flat out eerie and extremely insensitive.

Meanwhile, poor Mason's goldfish kept dying, and Kourtney was having enough of a hard time with that before Kris had to go and stir up a bunch of bad feelings about who would take Mason if something happened to Kourtney and Scott. Kim found out Kourtney had already asked Khloe to be his guardian, which Kim didn't take well, especially when Kourtney told her it was because she's too into herself. Ouch.

Surprisingly Kim got over it pretty quickly when Kourtney asked her to be in charge of her finances in the case of something happening. So that's settled at least. As for the rest of the plans for dead Kardashians, they weren't revealed.

In the end, Kris got what she partially wanted in this whole thing -- attention from her kids. Rob Kardashian held a special celebration of her life and revealed the big old tattoo of Kris Jenner's face on his arm. How ... sweet? Weird?

Do you think Kris Jenner's funeral planning efforts were out of control? What did you think of Rob Kardashian's tattoo?

Can't Rob get a fucking job already?  He's like the "new Jamie" mooching off of Lamar.  How come he  can't afford rent, with his salary from the show?  He has a college education.  Really Use it already.

This episode will definitely give me something to talk about tomorrow in the office with my Dish coworkers. This was one crazy and weird episode indeed. Obviously things like burial of family members needs to be discussed, but I think Kris could have waited on that, it definitely was creepy. I felt so bad for little Mason loosing his gold fish, he’s adorable! And yes to answer your question I did think that Robert’s tattoo of Kris was outrageous, I wouldn’t suggest that anyone get a face tattoo, ever. I’m never home when this show is on so I have it recording on my hopper. I love this because I’m able to start watching a recording in my living room and then continue watching from where I left off anywhere in my house. It’s so convenient and I don’t miss a thing.

Who climbs inside a casket to "try it out". You're dead! You won't know or care what "box" you're put in.
