Shia LaBeouf has a long history (in his relatively short life) of problems ... both on set and off. But this latest one just creeps me out. It seems as though while filming his new movie, "Lawless," he got a little too into his character! And honestly, he is a little too proud about how uncomfortable he made is female co-star, Mia Wasikowska.
In the movie LaBeouf plays a lover of moonshine during Prohibition and he thought it would be best to actually drink through his parts. You know -- so he could show up and "look" the part. And maybe it would have been okay to do this if LaBeouf had some level of self control while drinking, but this is a guy that has made it a point to stop drinking because of how self-destructive he's been while on the sauce.
Plus, isn't acting about being able to play the part? Isn't that what actors do? Russell Brand played a drunk in "Arthur" but didn't fall off-the-wagon for the role. He played the part.
In an interview with the New York Post LaBeouf is almost bragging when he says that costar, Wasikowska, called her attorney to try to get off the set. He says:
Mia was ready to walk away from the movie. I was really pretty aggressive about it, and not in any kind of weird, strange way, but I don't think she had ever experienced anything like that.
I know acting is an art ... but at the end of the day you are still working with others and need to treat them with respect.
People have been throwing his name in the ring as a potential candidate for the Christian Grey spot in the movie version of Fifty Shades of Grey. Can you imagine him getting into character for that role? I mean -- Christian never gets himself drunk, and is actually ALWAYS in complete control -- but Shia might take that control (and riding crop) a little too seriously!
Do you think it's okay to act this way on set? Would you want to see him play Christian Grey?

Who in the world would even consider him for the Christian Grey role? I mean really, I guess my picture of Christian Grey is different than some studio heads!!
I dont know the guy, but he's ugly, to me. Does he really, think, that having real sex for a movie, is the way to make a movie? If that's the case, I wont see it.
That would be really gross. When I think of him, I think of the little kid on that old disney channel show.
The fact that he looks like he's 15 should take him out of the running.
I think he would be terrible for the part anyway and I dont find him good looking at all
