Now that Bachelor Pad is fully underway and is somewhat satisfying our craving for mindless reality TV drama, the one question on everyone's mind is when ABC will announce who the next Bachelor will be. And even though Sean Lowe is a fan favorite and many women would love to see him have a shot at finding love on TV again -- Arie Luyendyk, Jr. is the clear choice for the gig. Heck, even his own dad thinks he's the right man for the job.
Supposedly Arie Luyendyk, Sr. was overheard talking about the possibility of his son being the next Bachelor at an IndyCar event in Ohio over the weekend, and he said that Arie Jr. is "definitely interested" in having his turn in the driver's seat and would be "thrilled" if he snags the coveted spot. (How cute. He has his daddy campaigning for him.)
And for the sake of die-hard Bachelor and Bachelorette fans everywhere, let's hope that ABC makes him an offer soon. Because after seeing just how romantic and sexy Arie was while wooing Emily Maynard, I can't even imagine how steamy his season of The Bachelor would be. Actually, I'm getting a little hot and bothered just thinking about how much making out (among other things) will likely go on if he's cast in the "role."
I know, I know -- that sounds a little bit desperate and pathetic. But seriously, were you not glued to your TV screen every week watching Arie put his mad kissing skills into action? I mean, that dude has some serious game, and he's definitely not afraid to use it. And Emily was only one girl, so can you even begin to imagine how much action will go on with 25 different gals to smooch?
And when you've got one majorly sexy guy swapping spit with a bunch of women, cat fights and pure drama are bound to follow as a result. And when it comes to The Bachelor -- the more crying, fighting, and hyperventilating -- the better. (C'mon, you know it's true.) And another thing -- after the total lack of hanky panky on Emily's season, it's about high time those fantasy suite cards got used. (Oh yeah, he'll be going to the fantasy suite alright.)
My guess is that the announcement will come sometime near the end of this season of Bachelor Pad, and if ABC does choose Arie to be The Bachelor? We're in for a real treat. (And so are the lucky women on the show.)
Do you think Arie would make a good Bachelor? If not, then who would you like to see ABC choose?
