Anderson & Ben on a happier dayRemember when Anderson Cooper came out and told us all he's gay and we were all like, "Yeah, Anderson, we KNOW." In a loving way, of course. Well, sad news. Anderson's boyfriend Ben Maisani has been caught kissing another man! Oh nooooo! Ben was photographed giving some tall, dark stranger a very open-mouthed kiss at a public park. Ben! How could you? Cheating on America's sweetheart.
And this just a couple weeks before Labor Day, when Anderson and Ben were rumored to be getting married. No word from Mr. Cooper so far. His Twitter has been silent since Saturday, when he asked, "Curious to know what you think of #Romney's choice for VP?" I'm curious to know what Anderson thinks of Ben's choice for vice boyfriend!
Okay, yes, that was an extremely cheesy line. I am ashamed.
Anyway, when I first heard about the story, I tried to rationalize it. (I'm going through the stages of grief on Anderson's behalf.) Most of the gay men I know greet each other by kissing on the mouth. It's not a big deal. But this is more than a hello peck. And the photos reveal that they were just sitting and talking intimately for a while.
Maybe they have an open-ish relationship? But even if they did, Ben must know that being the boyfriend of America's most famous gay celeb would mean a lot less privacy for him. No more canoodling with friends in the park!
What the hell is going on? It's like KStew all over again. Is kissing really cheating? Was this just a "momentary indiscretion" or evidence of a full-blown affair? Will Anderson forgive Ben -- and is Ben even sorry or is this just a very mean and public way of saying he wants out of the relationship? Ugh, this is such a bummer. I so hope this isn't what it looks like. But Anderson Twitter radio silence this morning isn't a good sign.
UPDATE: Anderson just tweeted his congrats to Candy Crowley for getting tapped to moderate a presidential debate. He says he's on vacation now. Hmmm.

I could certainly be wrong but they look rather fake to me. Is his boyfriend an actor, model, or something along those lines? They seems too perfect to be legitimate photos of this guy sneaking around.
Sorry to hear about Anderson's boyfriend caught kissing another man in public. Unfortunately when you are a celebrity even seems to be public. I agree with celebrities that get upset sometimes about being hounded by the paparazzi. They really don't have a private life and they can't go out in public without being followed around. They understand that it happens but everyone deserves a little privacy at times. I wish him the best and I hope that they can work things out because there have been so many relationships that have been ruined recently.
