Nikolaj Coster-WaldauA lot of you agreed (and some of you vehemently disagreed) that Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones, might be the perfect pick to play Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. She's sweet, hot, a fantastic actress, and doesn't mind a steamy sex scene or two. So, that got me thinking ... could any other actors from my beloved series play the perfect Christian Grey?
The answer is obvious: Helloooooo, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, aka Jaime Lannister!
Some of you might object immediately and say Nikolaj looks too old to play the part of 28-year-old Christian. But, come on, 30-year-olds played high schoolers on Remember the Titans and everyone seemed to be okay with that. This is Hollywood -- with the right hair, clothes, and Botox, Nikolaj could definitely take a decade off his already disgustingly good looks.
Stop rolling your eyes and hear me out, please.
Just look at him. The man is smokin'. He's got a charming yet sultry smile and could certainly pull off an abused, looking for kinky sex millionaire. And he doesn't play a one-dimensional, made-for-teen-girls vampire on a series for the CW: Nikolaj on Game of Thrones had to pull off that his character Jaime was in love (and sleeping with) his sister Cersei. He's the ultimate betrayer and badass as the Kingslayer, too! And yet he's still actually likable. Doesn't get more "fifty shades of f*cked up" than that!
Nikolaj has what Emilia's got: fantastic asking skills. HBO doesn't mess around when it comes to casting their shows, and they found the perfect Jaime with Nikolaj. He's hot, funny, charming, and an asshole, but as we'll see later, there's a lot more to him than meets the eye. Doesn't that sound just like Christian?
He's already got bondage experience.
Even though Nik's name hasn't been thrown around as a potential for Christian Grey (um, until now), probably the best part about all this speculation is being able to think of the hottest man you've ever seen and declare him perfect for the role. Nik may not have the young blood look of a Matt Bomer or Ian Smolderhalder, but if they want the best high-quality actor to pull off this part, maybe they should give him a shot. Something to at least think about, right?
Or maybe I'm just hoping way too hard that the producers of Fifty Shades of Grey could make the movie as amazing and enthralling as the Game of Thrones series ... but I don't think there's anything wrong with that!
Think that Nikolaj Coster-Waldau could play Christian Grey?
