Now that her season of The Bachelorette is over and Emily Maynard is happily engaged to her prince-of-a-fiance Jef Holm, there's really no point in her hiding her reasons for doing the show in the first place.
Right from the very start, Emily insisted she wanted to be The Bachelorette to find the man of her dreams who would be the perfect husband, and also a loving and devoted father to her daughter, Ricki. And after hearing her answer to the question of whether or not she and Jef Holm plan on having a TV wedding, her true intentions for being The Bachelorette are more crystal clear than ever.
Sorry haters -- but as hard as you tried to peg Emily for a fame whore, it looks like she's proven you wrong once and for all. Here is what she had to say about putting her wedding on TV, and about possibly starring in another reality TV show:
My thoughts on that are pretty clear. I have no interest in ever doing any spin-off show or anything like that. I have been looking forward to the day when I get to go back to normal and not have to worry about the cameras. And Jef and I can just be two people who fell in love on a show and leave all that behind us ... One thing I've learned is never say never, but I also think a wedding is a private thing. It's one of those things we'd just have to talk about when the time came.
Did you hear that? She "has no interest" in turning her gig as The Bachelorette into some crazy Hollywood quest for superstardom. I've said it all along and I'll say it again -- Emily is the real deal, and anyone who thinks she's anything other than a sweet, single mom who wants to share her life with someone is probably just jealous of how many people adore her.
Hopefully these comments will be enough to shut up her critics and let her ride off into the sunset with Jef once and for all.
And even before the finale aired, Emily responded the same way when asked about whether or not she planned on doing a spinoff show. You can hear her reaction in this video clip.
Do you think we've seen the last of Emily Maynard on TV?
