Take this with a grain of salt, but the confirmed Fifty Shades of Grey movie producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti may have their sights set on an actress for Anastasia Steele ... According to ShowbizSpy.com, Hermione Granger Emma Watson is in unconfirmed talks with De Luca and Brunetti to play E.L. James' wide-eyed, innocent virgin. The duo reportedly thinks the former teen witch has the right looks for the part -- not to mention that they'd be thrilled to have an actress with serious acting chops.
This isn't so surprising, given that Emma's name has been floated around in recent weeks as a potential Ana, but I'm still a bit taken aback by the fact that she may be the producers' first pick.
Maybe it's because I can't help but associate her with Hermione and we haven't really seen her in a mainstream adult role yet. But if there ever was a major opportunity for a crossover, this is so it! I mean, you can't really get more adult than this, and we can already pretty accurately guess that it'll be another incredibly successful franchise. If Emma Watson is Ana, she could transform her already incredibly successful career in the blink of an eye. And I definitely agree she could play naif-turned-vamp.
Still, the same report claims Emma's not alone. The producers apparently have a short list that also includes Elizabeth Olsen (feh -- do not see her appeal), Mila Kunis (too sophisticated), and dun dun daaah -- Kristen Stewart (really -- after what E.L. James said, I don't buy it!). Of all those actresses, Emma's most definitely the winning choice.
In the end, whether or not she does end up portraying the love of Christian Grey's life, let's keep our fingers crossed the producers at least decide to steer toward an actress like Emma ... who has as much talent as she does the right look.
Could you see Emma Watson as Anastasia Steele?

Doesn't Ana have big blue eyes in the book? Emma wouldn't look anything like her. She wouldn't be my choice.
I actually think she'd be a good fit, she's very slight of build and as Faith said, there are contacts, and there is also CGI. I would also like to see her in something other than "Harry Potter" and this would be a great way for her to show her range.
Emma is to classy for this kind of trash. I hope she doesn't take this role.
