It's almost here -- the moment we've all been waiting for. The anticipation is killing me. Our beloved Bachelorette Emily Maynard will finally hand out her final rose to either Jef Holms or Arie Luyendyk, Jr. Yes!
And although the finale is exciting, it's pretty much the same thing every season, isn't it? I've wanted to tell you ever since we rode those elephants on our one-on-one date in Africa that I love you, but for some reason I had to wait until we were standing on the edge of this cliff in Barbados with rose petals sprinkled around my feet.
What I really look forward to, though, comes next -- the 'After the Final Rose' special. Especially since this season, there's a huge twist. This finale special will be live -- no previous filming, no editing, just raw Bachelorette drama. Why, you ask? Well, the producers don't want any spoilers leaking out to the public beforehand. Because what's rumored to happen live is really that juicy.
Now, I know that there's been plenty of rumors regarding Emily and the man she ends up with. But this one, I think, could actually be true. Word on the street is that one person in the love triangle between Emily, Arie, and Jef still has "lingering feelings" and wants to confess this on the aftershow. Live!
Crazy, right? But you know what? I don't think this rumor is too far off.
You see, one of my favorite 'characters' on every season of The Bachelor/The Bachelorette is what I like to call The Boomerang. The person who gets eliminated but then comes back on a future episode for some random reason. You just can't get rid of them! They attempt to make some grand romantic gesture but end up just looking like a fool when they're forced to be dumped for a second time on live television. It happened to Kacie B. on Ben Flajnik's season, Ryan Park on Ashley Hebert's season, but Emily's season seemed to be lacking this desperate hopeless romantic.
And just when you think you've got ABC producers all figured out, they make The Boomerang one of the final contestants! It's genius, really. We would have never seen it coming. If this is what actually goes down on the finale special, then hats off to you, ABC -- you're really keeping us on our toes!
Will you be shocked if this happens?
