The Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy is about to become a movie. And ladies, hang on to your hats because it's going to be a good one. The folks behind The Social Network are going to be producing the movie.
Let us recall that The Social Network was like a full sensory experience with great music, stunning visuals, and a fast-paced storyline that never quit. If they can do the same for Fifty Shades, holy hell, this is going to be one hot flick.
There is no doubt that the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy isn't the best bunch of literature in history. Trust me when I say, women aren't reading it for the lyrical writing. They're reading it for the visceral and exciting sex scenes, and because of that, the story may play even better on the silver screen than it ever did in book form.
The fact is, Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele aren't the deepest characters in literary history. This is a film that SHOULD be all about the stunning visuals, and the producers that have signed on are the perfect ones to create that.
I can hardly wait to see what they come up with for Christian's amazing apartment. And the sex scenes. OMG. Just wait. The scene in The Social Network where the pretty girls from other schools come to party at Harvard? Yep. It's gonna be even hotter than that.
The movie needed a smart production team because it would be very easy for it to fall into schmaltz-y-ness. With the wrong approach it could be very, very bad and thus hugely disappointing for fans of the books.
While I found the books entertaining, I also recognize that they're poorly written (even EL James admits that), but as a movie? Oh yes. This is where the story belongs, up where we can all salivate over Christian Grey together and see his body up close and personal.
Let's hope they skip all that inner goddess nonsense and focus in on what we all really want to see -- abs, sex, and hotness. I can't wait!

Ian Somerhalder....Definitley Christian Grey material. Alexander Skarsgard is much too ugly...Or alex O'Laughlin would be good as well. Anne Hathaway or Natalie Portman as Ana. My vote
Ian Somerhalder YES!! As Christian, Definitly BUT someone that is innocent and inexperienced for Ana??? I think maybe, Pheobe Tonkin, she can play a bad girl and can be sweet at the same time..
Ok, so the books aren't literary genius but I for one hope the movie isn't reduced to porn...this in the end, is a beautiful love story.
hmmm Well I actually thought the books had a wonderful storyline. I enjoyed that as much as I did the sex scenes. To me it just all added up to a wonderful love story where to me Christian's willigness to be vulnerable with Ana was very touching. I agree with Lauren... I enjoyed the sex but I don't want the movie to be just porn, there is a beautiful story there, too.
The books were total garbage and I can't imagine the movie(s) will be any better!
