'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' Recap: Everyone Is Over Scott & Kourtney

by Julie Ryan Evans on July 10, 2012 at 12:44 AM

Kourtney KardashianI'm not sure why we needed a two-night, two-hour Keeping Up With the Kardashians special to see Scott Disick open his restaurant, RYU, but that's what we got. While in part one last night Khloe Kardashian was under fire for not giving her family enough time, tonight Scott Disick was in the hot seat once again.

Khloe and Lamar ended up deciding to join the NY festivities and go and support Scott and his restaurant. So the whole family was there to show him just how proud they were of him ... only Scott was nowhere to be found.

Instead he was out boozin' it up on the town until the wee hours of the morning, providing flashbacks of the bad behavior he's repeated over and over again. For awhile it seemed like perhaps he'd changed, but tonight provided a pretty strong suggestion that he likely never really will. Of course, it's not all his fault.

As Kris Jenner astutely pointed out -- Kourtney completely enables him. After all of his cavorting about and ignoring her family, after the restaurant's opening, Kourtney actually gave him a "love" promise ring. Jenner stood by watching, aghast.

"It's the same old story over and over," she told Kim. "He misbehaves, she ignores it, then rewards him for his bed behavior." Then there's the little matter of them having slept in separate beds for the past two and a half years. As Jenner said, "They're too young for that," and they're not even married yet. "I'm just over it," she said.

Kim echoed her sentiments, "We're all over it."

I've long rooted for Kourtney to split from Scott, but with their new baby girl, Penelope Scotland Disick, and, of course, Mason, it was rather depressing to see such a cold, hard look at their dysfunctional relationship. While no one wants to see a family split apart, you really have to wonder just how long they can last like this, and how soon it will be before Kourtney is finally over it.

As for Kanye West's appearance, it was a nice bonus, but we didn't learn anything about him and Kim we didn't already know. Though I have to say the electricity between them is at least a bazillion times stronger than any we saw between her and Kris Humphries.

Do you think Scott and Kourtney can make it in the long run?

I'm really tired of how badly Scott is treated in that family. He tries and he gets yelled at and put down, he does his own thing and he is yelled at and put down. I hate Kourtney the most out of all the Kardashians because of the way she treats him. A lot if the articles I read are all about how awful he is. He likes to party, so what? As far as we can see he is still a good dad. She won't commit or sleep in the same room as him. It's none of her business what he does then.

I'm not over Scott and Kourtney, at all. I don't think I'd ever get tired of the Kardashian family, probably because my life isn't that interesting. There aren't anymore shows like Desperate Housewives or Sex and the City anymore. I need my weekly fix of drama, and the Kardashians always give it. :)

Unless both Kourtney and Scott learn to accept each other for who they are right now versus who they each think the other will become later down the road, this is going to keep happening. I feel bad for both of them and imagine that at some point one or both of them will just get sick of the Merry Go Round and jump off. It's just sad because neither one of them is any good at communicating verbally but they're both really good at the "oh yeah, well take that" game. And the saddest thing is that this is how their children are learning to communicate.

Shorty Loc, please quit butchering the English language.  It makes you seem like a complete moron.

I couldn't even get through the first line of what you wrote because your atrocious "textspeak" made me cringe and made my eyes hurt.  Speaking of my eyes, they are weeping for the future because young people today can't even seem to form a sentence that is correct in form, grammar, and spelling.

the whole kartrashian family is dysfunctional and i only watch the show because it is a train wreck and i can't pull my eyes away. encouraging kourtney to leave scott when they have just had a second child is sad. he is a good father and it's their business how the relationship works--which it does since it's lasted longer since most marriage of non-reality couples. please kardashians, turn off the cameras. my life is not full of flash and pop and expensive things but i am happier than they are! God bless Bruce--he is the only one in that family with a level head. hopefully his girls (Kendall & Kylie) take after him more than their fame hungry mom. i feel sorry for all of them, craving fame and material objects and needing public approval more than caring that a family stays together--whether they like it or not. trash the Kardashians--live and love your own life. do you really think expensive clothes equate happiness?

Does she reward him for his bed behavior or his bad behavior? Maybe his bed behavior is why he gets to stag around.

Lol at Fondue and honestly who are we to judge what they do and don't do...for all we know it's all fake and a story that they tape for us to watch...not their real lives.
