Well, well, well -- author E L James has decided to voice her opinion on who should play Anastasia Steele & Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, and shockingly enough, she thinks casting Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson is a bad idea.
When asked about the possibility of Rob & Kristen taking on the scandalous leading roles, she said:
"I think it would be too strange. It would just be ... Uggh weird!"
Weird, huh? So does she mean that seeing them on-screen together in roles other than Bella & Edward would somehow take away from their iconic Twilight personas -- or is E L James starting to get a little bit embarrassed by the fact that she based Christian & Ana's characters on Edward Cullen & Isabella Swan? (Or maybe it would be too "weird" for her to see her fantasies about Rob & Kristen actually play out in movie form. You know, because of how hot & bothered those two apparently make her.)
More from The Stir: '50 Shades of Grey' Movie May Be Killed by 'Twilight'
Another possible reason for her making comments about Kristen and Robert not being the right fit for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie is because she's sick and tired of her book being compared to Twilight and wants to separate herself and her work from that series. It's almost like she's trying to take full ownership of Christian & Ana, even though it's a well-known fact that she based their physical features and personalities on Pattinson & Stewart's portrayal of Edward & Bella.
Even though Fifty Shades of Grey has an absolutely enormous fan base (which truly makes my head spin), there are still plenty of people who agree that the book is very poorly written and is obviously nothing more than an erotic adaptation of Twilight. Based on that notion, it's understandable that E L James is suddenly doing everything possible to distance herself from the vampire realm and set herself apart as a serious author (or something to that effect).
But if Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart do manage to snag the roles of Christian & Ana, E L James better be ready for even more criticism surrounding her inspiration for the "storyline." It'll be pretty hard to deny the similarities after seeing those two roll around in the buff on-screen.
Do you think Rob & Kristen would ruin the Fifty Shades of Grey movie?

I am with her. I think Kristen is not a good actress (and no I am not just judging by Twilight).
And the world takes a collective sigh of relief. Thank God!!
If the woman wants to be seperate 50 shdes from Twilight, maybe she shouldn't have written the story as a twilight fanficion first! After the comments this woman made about the fanfiction as a whole it's hard to read anything she says and feel for her or take her opinions seriously.
Would love to see Rob & Kristen play the parts, after all the books are about them....
"Do you think Rob & Kristen would ruin the Fifty Shades of Grey movie?"
No, I think E. L. James writing the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' book has already ruined the movie. It's one of those things that should have never been done. And I think it is absolutely HILARIOUS how she snubs her nose at Rob & Kristen when everyone already knows that they're Twilight performances is what she made her little fanfic off of. *eyeroll*
I just LOVE people who pull that kind of shit. "Oh, I drew inspiration from this, but when it manages to make it famous (even though not even God understands how the hell that happened) I'm going to act like a total snob where that's concerned!"
She started the books as a fanfic, with completely different characters in mind than Edward and Bella. Anyone who reads fanfic knows that some fanfic is characters made up by people and put in the same area as the original ones. The only thing that is the same is they are both based in Washington, there are no vampires or werewolfs in the 50 Shades Trilogy. There is nothing to even come close to suggesting this triology is any type of fanfiction of the Twilight series. It may have originally started out as a fanfic, but she took the charcters and her story line completely out of the fanfic it started in and made it her own. And koodoos to her for saying no to Kristen, the girl cannot act. I read the Twilight books, and while you could tell that they were wrote for a young audience I did enjoy them. After watching the first Twilight Movie I haven't seen another, Kristen's acting killed the image of Bella for me.
