Sick of the Katie Holmes-Tom Cruise divorce saga yet? Yeah, neither are we. Especially when juicy reports like today's come out about Katie supposedly planning her dramatic exit for a while when old Tommy was none the wiser.
People mag is saying that sweet little Katie was slowly getting the pieces in place to leave Tom and Scientology long before he had any clue what was going on. He and his peeps have already claimed he was blindsided and devastated by Holmes' decision to split and take Suri with her. She, on the other hand, told an inquiring reporter in the grocery store July 4, "I'm all right. Thank you."
But the latest details are downright fascinating, even if you don't give a hoot about TomKat. A mystery source is saying that 33-year-old Holmes rented her new mom-daughter digs in New York early last month, but she told Cruise, who just turned 50, that it was just for the privacy of the underground garage. Huh? And he believed that crap?

Apparently, yes, yes, he did. Here's how the People source tells it:
She said she moved there to drive into the underground garage. There are fewer paparazzi and it's less intrusive for her. It was the first phase of getting everything out of the house, and that's why she was able to say she's moving without giving an indication that she was going to divorce him.
Katie also reportedly called her lawyer daddy in to assess the situation, schemed with her closest friends to switch cell phones so those outside the circle of trust couldn't reach her, and even was gushing "I love you" to Tom, who was off filming in Iceland, on the phone as recently as last week.
Okay so now I know so many of us are Team Katie -- me included -- but this seems like kind of a nasty thing to do to your husband of five years and the father of your ridiculously adorable daughter, doesn't it? It kind of reminds me of those stories you hear about a guy suddenly telling his wife of, oh, a decade he hasn't been in love with her since before he popped the question. Say what? Not only is it unbelievable -- it's sneaky and deceptive and kind of all around icky and WHY THE HELL AM I DEFENDING CREEPY TOM CRUISE AGAIN?
Right, so if he were, like, a normal celebrity guy who wasn't King Scientology, I'd be wholeheartedly on his side and vehemently wagging my finger at Miss Holmes. And even though I'm not a fan of lies and double lives, I'm still behind Katie Holmes 100%. She was probably terrified of fleeing the Cult Church of Scientology, which by many accounts seems about as easy as getting out of the CIA. ESPECIALLY with that other new report that she was petrified of that insane Scientology interrogation ritual kids are supposedly put through when they turn 6 (hello, Suri). So the protective momma had to be secretive and calculating and careful. Who better to pull the wool over an A-list actor's eyes than his A-list actress wife?
Kind of reminds me of that movie Sleeping With the Enemy, when Julia Roberts' character was being abused by a control-freak maniac husband and she staged her own death and ... I loved that sh*t. I rooted her on, and felt vindicated when she succeeded (I'd have said "spoiler alert!!" here, but if you haven't seen the 1991 film by now, you're never gonna). So go, Katie, go! We're proud of you, GF.
Do you think Katie Holmes was right to secretly plan her split from Tom Cruise, or was it just plain evil?

@ Jamie Swift Sundin: I would argue that mosts religions are cults. Some are worse than others. I don't care what anyone chooses to believe, but I do care about the crazies who push their agenda.
It would seem we still haven't learned our lessons about religious intolerance. Is it any wonder why we are losing our rights in this country?
If she doesn't like his Scientology religion, then why did she marry him?
According to the author, everyone should be aware of Tom's religious preferences by now, because of Nicole's issue with it, if it ever was the REAL issue.
Don't like their religion? Don't marry them.
This is an Actress who uses her acting skills to deceive her husband, in marriage and divorce. It is clear she married him for what she could get out of him. This is the shallowness of Womankind's culture today.
What is really disturbing here is how the author is promoting dishonesty as an appropriate tool in relationship management.
Since when does trust in a marriage equate to stupidity?
If we should not trust our marital partners, then why get married in the first place?
What dose this say about Womankind?
I don't even like Scientology, but I have deep respect for letting other people believe what they want, and letting them live their lives the way they chose.
If Tom should be criticized for anything, it should be for his lack of vision to distinguish between honest and dishonest Women entering his life.
The value of marriage for Men, in today's world, is becoming a glaringly foolish value to have. Probably explains why most Men will not commit anymore.
I sure am glad I'm single.
sounds like a smart woman who was afraid for her and her DD's life- and HAVING to conspired in order to get out- due to fear of what might happen if someone found out~ BEFORE the media could "help" protect her and keep the watchful eye- cause NOW if something happens- well everyone will know who did it.
Good for Katie...just when I thought she was a brainless Stepford wife, she grows cojones!
You can bet Tom never saw it coming...he probably never even THOUGHT that any WOMAN would WANT to leave him.
What she did was very, very smart...esp when dealing with a control freak like Tom Cruise. She's going to have to be extremely careful, esp when it comes to the King of Hollywierd...and his cult.
I'm glad she's got her dad working with her.
(And somewhere, Nicole Kidman is laughing her ass off...)
