I have never been a big fan of the Palins -- any of them.
But my heart went out to Bristol during her headline grabbing bar fight on the premiere of Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp.
Stephen Hanks didn't just heckle the poor girl. It seemed like he was trying to crush her because he disagrees with her mother Sarah Palin's political beliefs. Now, I am not trying to stick up for the former veep candidate, but I do defend Bristol's right to have a good time with her pals without some jerk crapping all over her.
Just think how you would react if you are hanging with friends, and after working up the nerve to ride a mechanical bull, you hear, "Did you ride Levi like that? Your mom's a whore!" We would do just what Bristol did: confront the dude.
I was psyched to see her spunk. The 21-year-old showed more personality that night then she ever did on an entire season of Dancing With the Stars. She demanded that he describe just what made her mom a supposed whore. Clearly, he couldn't back up that statement. Sarah may be a lot of things but a whore she is most definitely not. But the squabble only gets worse. Bristol is called "white trash from Wasilla" and told her mom is evil and belongs in hell. Levi is even thrown in her face again.
It's no surprise the night ends with her crying in the parking lot. No matter how you feel about that family's politics, you really feel for Bristol in that moment. She has taken a lot of abuse over the years. This was supposed to be her fresh start, but she's left fearing that may not be possible. She even told Us Weekly the incident is what ultimately sends her running back to Wasilla.
That said, while I think the attack was totally uncalled for, it made for some pretty good TV. But let's just hope the next heckler goes after Bristol for stuff she's actually said (like her own recent comments about gay marriage). Now that's a gripe I can get behind.

I didn't think I would want to watch the show but was shocked by her. She is a sweet gal, she seems to be a great mother, and unlike "Teen Moms" She seems mature and to have some kind of values even with her past mistakes. I personal have the same beliefs as her and her mother and I believe she handled herself really well when she confronted the guy at the bar. And I think she like most christians handled herself with respect and like a typical non believer who doesn't like to hear they like us are sinners, he did exactly the norm, he cussed, showed his butt, and couldn't defend his believes, but instead could only negatively beat down someone else for their difference in beliefs. Anyway I love this family! And I wish more people have the good heart and morals like this young lady!
Of course she was unfairly attacked! Just because you don't agree with someones' political stance doesn't mean you have a right to attacked their family members. And what exactly is her "past mistakes" she had sex before marriage and had a baby? Millions of girls do that everyday and society has now accepted that...unless of course you are a daughter in a conservative political family right? I think if you asked most mothers of teenage girls who got pregnant, they would agree that they wish their daughters had waited either for marriage or at least finish college and better able to handle all that comes from being a single teen mom. I don't think Sarah is any different than any of mother who wishes that for her daughters.
They edited out the part where she told the guy, "You must be a homosexual". I really find it hard to have any sympathy for her or anyone in her family. She and her sister Willow have frequently attacked people on Facebook for disagreeing with their beliefs. For some reason, going on and on about how you're a Christian and then using the kind of language those girls openly use when argued with don't go hand in hand in my book.
I personally like Sarah Palin, and her family! I don't care about her political views. I like her as a person. I loved watching her show before it got cancelled! I still think it's stupid they cancelled it because she was hunting...
I plan on watching Bristol's show, I recorded it last night! lol! And I would have knocked that guy (who was heckling her) on his ass! She's handled the situation very maturely though! lol!
And regardless of the fact that she was a teen mom, that goes to show she was raised well. Sarah did a good job raising her daughter!
"Whore!" "White Trash!" "The Devil!" Then, when asked to justify the spittle soaked diatribe, at the peak of the tantrum, "well, she is full of hate". I would be "LOL"ing at the stupidity and hypocrisy, if it were not so disgusting.
Back in the day, they unused to teach students to analyze emotion based propaganda in school. The appeal to knee jerk hate over reason. Guess back in the day, the memory 1930's Germany was not so distant...
Oh, and BTW Jess Townsend, Bristol did NOT use the gay comment in a derogatory manner, in any way. She simply asked if that was the reason for his blind, mindless hate, and disgusting behavior.
I see here that on "The Stir" that "good liberals" still find that it is fashionable to hate the Palins. Even if they really don't know why...
No, when you're at a bar on a mechanical bull with cameras looking for attention you get what you get. Its not like she was sipping on a beer talking to her girlfriends and the guy came up to her. She wanted attention, she got it. Maybe next time she should go to church so she doesnt get her feelings hurt. Also, if youre going to move home because a drunken guy called your mom a whore at a bar you're not going to make it in the real world anyway.
