Adam Carolla long ago established himself as a douchebag. Though he calls himself a comic, his attention-grabbing slams over the years have been anything but funny. This latest one, however, takes his douchiness to new heights, and shows just how low he's sunk to try to remain relevant.
In a pathetic ploy while pimping his new book, "No Taco Bell Material," this week he slammed female comics and the sense of humor of women in general. In an interview with the New York Post when he was asked if he liked working with female comics, he responded:
No. But they make you hire a certain number of chicks, and they're always the least funny on the writing staff. The reason why you know more funny dudes than funny chicks is that dudes are funnier than chicks. If my daughter has a mediocre sense of humor, I'm just gonna tell her, 'Be a staff writer for a sitcom. Because they'll have to hire you, they can't really fire you, and you don't have to produce that much. It'll be awesome.'
Even when he was given a chance to clarify his stupid statement, he stuck with stupidity:
I don't care. When you're picking a basketball team, you'll take the brother over the guy with the yarmulke. Why? Because you're playing the odds. When it comes to comedy, of course there's Sarah Silverman, Tina Fey, Kathy Griffin - super-funny chicks. But if you're playing the odds? No.
I'm sure the world is supposed to be outraged by his comments, and he was expecting a backlash so furious ... it would propel sales of his book. But the joke is really on Carolla because instead everyone is just laughing AT him for stooping so low and doing it so obviously and pathetically.
He may think women aren't funny, but as time marches on, pretty much no one of any sex thinks he is either. Here are a few of the best reactions to Carolla's comments from Twitter.

So while they say all publicity is good publicity, in this case I'd have to disagree. This lame stunt just made Carolla look like more of a joke than ever.

He doesn't like female comics 'cause, a) he dated some of them, and b) female comedy is mainly relationship-based, so all the douchebag-bashing must be too close to home.
After seeing him on CA, all my instincts about him were proven right. Whatta self-absorbed jerk. Thank God he's married and off the streets.

The ironic thing is, I've never really found him to be funny. Ever. His jokes are too juvenile. Perhaps he just doesn't get the jokes women tell because it's beyond his maturity level.

Adam Carolla is still around? Why? He's a total moron, and not funny to boot. I would probably have an opinion of his comments if I cared enough, but I'm at a loss as to why anyone would care what he thinks.
