I've been a huge fan of Dancing With the Stars pro Cheryl Burke ever since she and Drew Lachey took home the mirror ball trophy a few seasons back, and I LOVED rooting for her this season while she was paired with William Levy. (Yummy.)
She's beautiful, confident, has some serious dance moves -- and really seems like an all-around nice gal. And that's why I was a little bit excited when I heard that Cheryl Burke is also interested in being The Bachelorette.
She recently appeared on Bethenny, and she talked about how she hasn't dated anyone in two years. (Are the dudes in Hollywood blind?) And then she said, "I need to get on The Bachelorette or something." (Which even made the audience cheer.)
And even though she made that comment on a whim and could have potentially been kidding around -- the idea of her being The Bachelorette is nothing short of pure genius. In fact, it's a marriage made in reality TV heaven.
Just think about it for a second -- DWTS and The Bachelorette both have such a loyal following of fans, so there would be plenty of carryover between the two shows. There are plenty of fans who love both programs, but casting Cheryl as The Bachelorette would bring in additional DWTS fans who have never really followed the show before. And if that happens (take note, ABC), ratings would go through the roof.
But aside from how Cheryl being The Bachelorette would benefit ABC, she'd also be a pleasure to watch for viewers. She's a professional, and she knows how to handle herself on television. (Odds are good we wouldn't have to deal with the ugly cry from her.)
And her success coaching contestants on Dancing With the Stars proves she knows how to take control of a situation -- so I'm guessing she'd be able to handle the pressure of rose ceremonies with no problems at all.
The Bachelorette & The Bachelor are also starting to get a little bit stale because they keep recycling old cast members. Bringing Cheryl in would be a breath of fresh air, but also interesting and highly entertaining since many viewers already know who she is.
Yeah -- if she's on board, ABC would be stupid to pass her up.
What do you think? Should Cheryl be the next Bachelorette?
