maleficentForget the Evil Queen in Snow White. When it comes to vampish fairy tale villainesses, Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty) rules. So I'm thrilled the most sinister seductress of them all is finally getting her own live-action flick, especially because Angelina Jolie is cast in the title role. Talk about perfect casting!! As a kid, even the cartoon version of this Maleficent sent chills down my spine: Those demonic horns! Those razor-sharp cheekbones! Damn, Maleficent was hot. (Why was the prince after that goody-two-shoes Aurora, again?)

Anyway, the movie -- which started filming last week and is scheduled for release (in 3D!) on March 14, 2014 -- is all about Maleficent before Sleeping Beauty, focusing on "the events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora."

I can't wait to find out what made Maleficent cross over to the dark side! Call me crazy, but I bet there's a Prince Not-So-Charming to blame. Omg, I know!! It was totally Sleeping Beauty/Aurora's father! He and Maleficent were madly in love and she was heartbroken when he married someone else. Even though he didn't really WANT to marry the other chick, it was an arranged-type royal marriage thing. Still, the spineless wimp went ahead with it.

Or maybe it was something else. One thing's for sure: Whatever happens in that movie, Angelina Jolie is definitely going to look awesome doing it.
