'50 Shades of Grey' Has Celebrities Turned On & Talking Nonstop

Selena GomezIf you haven't read Fifty Shades of Grey yet, then it's pretty safe to say you're a little bit behind the curve. Because everybody who's anybody is reading it (duh), including plenty of celebrities. And as for the famous folks who don't have their noses buried deep in the book? Yeah, they're at least talking about it -- or talking about the possibility of starring in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.

The anticipation of the film has become just as big a phenomenon as the actual book itself -- as many A-listers can't resist throwing their name into the ring as a contender to play Anastasia Steele or Christian Grey. Of course, there is at least one leading lady who isn't too keen on the idea of smearing her squeaky clean image by having insane amounts of kinky sex.

When Selena Gomez was asked whether or not she would consider taking on the Anastasia role, she said, “I know I’m taking risks but I don’t think I could do that. That would be a little too much for me.”

But countless other celebs are definitely up for the challenge, or at least aren't afraid to be vocal about being obsessed with the book.

Here's a roundup of what some of the most well known names in Hollywood are saying about Fifty Shades of Grey.

Hilary Duff -- "I feel a little dirty reading that book right now." And as for the movie, she added, "Personally, I would love if Ryan Gosling would do it, but I know he never would."

Audrina Patridge tweeted -- "Who's read 50 Shades of Grey? I'm going to start reading the first book tomorrow, pretty excited."

Ryan Seacrest -- "I'm obsessed. And I'm using it as a manual. I think it can be a study book for a lot of people."

Ashley Benson -- "I've read every book. I want to play Anastasia."

Karina Smirnoff -- "Friends told me it was a must-read, so I finally gave in and bought it. It’s definitely the kind of book that makes you blush, yet it’s so well written."

Ian Somerhalder -- "I absolutely would be up for that. I have the book and I just started reading it. That would be a pretty incredible thing, and hopefully that could pan out. Yes, beyond the shadow of a doubt I think that would be a phenomenal opportunity!"

Lucy Hale -- "I just finished the first [book]– I’m speechless. I think every girl on the carpet wants to play [Ana]! That would be freaking awesome. I’m really curious to see how they’re going to turn it into a film."

Miley Cyrus -- She tweeted: "Reading Fifty Shades of Grey next to the oldest dude ever. #awkward."

Alexander Skarsgard -- "Where do I sign? He's got a sex chamber? My character [Eric Northman] has that on ‘True Blood.' He's got his little dungeon. I was born to play that part."

Chris Pine -- "It’d be a hell of a choice for me, I think. It sounds like an interesting film."

What did you think of Fifty Shades of Grey, and who do you think should play the leading roles in the movie?

Karina Smirnoff is a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars and I wouldn't be surprised if she said it was well written just for the sake of making a nice comment. Celebrities have to be very careful what they say or else it can be blown way out of proportion. Or at least I hope that's why she said it :)

Alexander Skarsgard has to be Christian Grey... I will buy my tickets the day this news is announced in advance, if possible, if he is chosen! There is no better actor alive to fit this role.

Eddie Redmayne would make a perfect Christian in my opinion, his acting in Birdsong was brilliant and he has the look I think too!
