The good news is, if the world succumbs to a Zombie Apocalypse, we can at least fight for our day-to-day survival in style! What you are looking at above is a Zombie Car. Its a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT, and while I don't usually get excited about cars and especially Hyundais, I must admit this one looks sweeeeeet. Or maybe it's just that Season 3 of The Walking Dead is still at least four months away and I'm just starved for anything related to the show, I don't know ...

If you watch the show (or read the comics), you know that a car -- a method of transport -- is vital to surviving in a zombie infested world. Characters driving on the show are constantly running out of gas, smashing into hoards of "walkers," breaking and replacing hoses and things. It's a virtual automotive nightmare!

So Robert Kirkman, creator of the comic series, is working with Hyundai to design a "survival" edition of the above car that will be displayed at this year's Comic Con. There's also a sweepstakes going on where you can win one.

Oh, sure, it's all one big promotional gimmick. But it's fun to hear Kirkman talk about all the features he feels a car of the future should have into order to help you survive among a world taken over by the undead, including a battering ram on the front, a hatch on the top for quick entrances and exits, as well as blades on the tires. The real life version looks like it will run in the $20k neighborhood, give or take, which is not a bad price to pay for your life.

Take a look, Kirkman's a really funny guy and it's cool to hear him admit he's got absolutely no skills and would be one of the first to bite it when the zombies take over ...
