The "party" (for lack of a better word) is apparently over for Amber Portwood, as the Teen Mom star reportedly checked into Indiana's Rockville Correctional Facility at approximately 7:45 a.m. this morning. Portwood, as I'm quite certain you've heard, recently chose a 5-year jail sentence over a court-appointed rehab program, and it looks like her time behind bars has officially begun.
But is this really the last we'll see of Portwood for the next 5 years? Personally, I doubt it. Of course that would be the best thing for the 22-year-old -- a solid chunk of life not spent in the public eye, a chance to start over from scratch with no distractions.
Unfortunately, I don't think that's what Portwood is going to get.
I think she's going to end up being offered lots and lots of cash for "exclusive" jailhouse interviews and inundated with fan mail/hate mail. I also think the other inmates probably have their minds made up about Portwood already.

And to be perfectly honest, I wouldnt' be surprised if MTV found some way to do an all-new reality show, Teen Mom: Behind Bars. Can you imagine? I can. It would be a huge hit (and you know it!).
Only time will tell. And Portwood's got plenty of that on her hands.

Good luck Amber. This is what happens when our society glorifies teen pregnancy. These girls get rich and famous for having children and they obviously cant make good decisions for themselves. Our society should choose not to promote "children having children" by not watching these shows. Our society tells these girls once you have a child ,your an adult. well if they where thinking like adults, they wouldnt be pregnant at 15 or 16 years of age.and having a child does not make you an adult. 99% of the time, it makes the grandparents, parents of an infant again. I say stop glorifing teen pregnancy by not watching such shows on tv. we dont watch, it will be taken off mtv.

Amber should have been written off when they saw her addiction and her violent nature. I don't know how Gary put up with her crap. I was hoping since Dr Drew is on this show he would have pulled her off and got her the needed counseling. I guess he along with everyone else is after the all mighty dollar
