Now, I don't want to hate on our fave teen vampire-turned-legit movie star, but Robert Pattinson's latest quote has him coming off as even more moody than when he was kvetching about being called "RPatz" in the media. What the heck? Not sure what's going on here, but it's like all of a sudden, the guy gets cast in a few films that have nothing to do with Edward Cullen, and suddenly, he's up on a soap box, criticizing his fellow actors!
The harsh words showed up in an interview Pattinson did with U.K. newspaper The Guardian about the Occupy L.A. movement. It seemed he was attempting to point out a certain brand of hypocrisy that's so pervasive in Hollywood.
I remember when Occupy happened in L.A. I knew a bunch of actors who went down to it. They all drove down there, because no one takes the train, and parked one stop away, because they didn't want to be seen driving their free Audis, and then got on the train. I was like, 'What are you doing? You're probably ruining it for the other people!' I guess that's kind of a bubble; you want to say things, but you are being hypocritical. I've never really been in a position to give my opinion on political stuff before, it doesn't really come up. But suddenly you've got to take an enormous amount of responsibility.
I totally get what he's saying, and it sounds like he really was making a wise observation about his colleagues' behavior, how ridiculous it looks, and his own position as a celebrity. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I'd take this to mean he feels like if you're going to put yourself out there and support a political cause, your actions should reflect your stated beliefs. And some of his fellow actors in Hollywood aren't doing that. Fair enough.
Still, ripping them like this probably isn't the smartest move for our beloved Rob. Spouting political opinions are one thing, but this is the third gripey, irritated comment he's made lately? (He also slammed the British film industry earlier this month.) You better believe his publicist is going to have to do at least a little damage control to make it seem like he wasn't totally slamming his politically-conscious colleagues! Ouch.
Not saying pretty boy Pattinson needs to keep his mouth shut, but he might do well to be a little more, err, diplomatic, shall we say, when discussing two parties -- the media and others in the entertainment biz. After all, charged remarks like this one could really come back to bite him!

i agree with him on this one and i also hate when he is refured to as RPatz
for petessake, can't the kid have an opinion without some hack jumping his ass for it? He is entitled to think what he thinks and feel what he feels and say the same...Robert is a very talented and gifted young man...I wish he were more appreciated for that rather than rode like a nag so some tabloid whore can make a few bucks and get their name in print...RPatz is stupid as is KStew and TLaut...Peter Facinelli had the right answer when they tried the PFac on him...he said it sounded like a veneral disease and that seemed to have stopped it...that was a pretty funny observation on his aprt...

I haven't read anything wrong that he said.. i agree that it seemed a lil hypocritical what the actors did.. hey, maybe some of Kristen's ballsiness has rubbed off.. and why should he like RPatz,, really, it's an annoying name.. more power to him.. he is talented and I hope he continues to do well..go, Rob go!!
