bel amiI just learned something that's got my head spinning: After spending too much time in Los Angeles, Robert Pattinson is losing his charming English accent and apparently talks like a Valley girl. NO! The horror.

RPatz's Bel Ami co-star Christina Ricci told Jimmy Kimmel that she and Robert both had to work with an accent coach for the movie because "he spent a lot of time in L.A. I got to make fun of him because he's actually British and sometimes would sound like he was a Valley girl."

WHAT. I hate to say it, but I think RPatz just got about 30 percent less sexy.

I just ... I can't. Seeing the words "Valley girl" and "Robert Pattinson" together like that is giving me vertigo. Robert without his swoony English accent? We'll let it pass in the Twilight movies. But I need him to have his accent in real life. I need to know it's still there, underneath the whatever-I'm-playing-an-American-right-now accent he sometimes uses for movies.

Without the cute British accent, he's just some guy with extremely prominent eyebrows.

Well, at least some of Robert's Queen's English is brushing off on Kristen Stewart. Robert says of her accent in Snow White, "She's really good at it. She's really good." No -- you know what? I don't care about Kristen. Let's check out this clip and see what's really going on with Robert's accent.

Okay, that accent is good enough for me. Actually, I didn't really hear a word he said, so ... crisis averted! Everything's fine. Deep SIGH.
