Bethenny Frankel isn't one to shy away from touchy subjects, so it's no surprise that during the first week of her new talk show, Bethenny, she went straight and up dirty and pounced on the fascination with best-selling book "Fifty Shades of Grey." Not content to just discuss all the sex toys mentioned in the steamy book, Bethenny actually had to try them out on guest Holly Robinson Peete. 

After donning some sort of sex collar with a ball gag and a blindfold, Peete prepared, and Bethenny readied her whip. Then she proceeded to spank Peete in front of the live studio audience. It was ... uh, interesting. Watch for yourself after the jump.

So they're no Anastasia Grey and Christian Steele, but it did lead to a rather interesting discussion of just how the book is spicing up couples' sex lives. Peete admitted she thinks the book can add value to a relationship, but frankly she's a little afraid of the spanking, and what it might do to her.  "I am scared that he is going to spank me too hard and I might punch him in the face."

She said after 17 years of marriage, her marriage could use a spark like this. "So I’m hoarding this book to myself right now and pretending it’s fifty beautiful ways to make love to your wife," she said.

As for Frankel, the big question plaguing her is if there's any spark at all left in her marriage to Jason Hoppy as rumors of a divorce have swirled. She addressed those right out of the gate as well on the show.

Those of you who don't know…basically, the press has said that Jason has seen a divorce lawyer and I saw a divorce lawyer. There is this whole big thing going on and the truth is, I put it all out there on my show. If it's out there, I'll tell you. I'm in a good marriage. We have issues. We are not perfect. We work on it every day. We're committed.

She didn't say if they work on it with any inspiration from "50 Shades of Grey," but she did look pretty comfortable around that whip. So the question becomes: Who do you think would wield the whip in their relationship -- Bethenny or Jason? Which probably isn't much of a question at all.
