Besides a sadistic dentist dance party, what else has James Brown music, pithy quotables, and a spattering of blood? You guessed it, a Quentin Tarantino movie. The director famous for Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds has a new movie, Django Unchained -- it hits theaters this Christmas and the trailer was just released. There's funk music, there's Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, and the inimitable Christoph Waltz; there's blood-soaked cotton; there's a forlorn crow call; and there's God's-eye P.O.V. It's Tarantino at his best. You just have to watch.
The film's about Django (Foxx) who's freed by Dr. Schultz (Waltz) and mentored to become a bounty hunter. Django is trying to find his wife, who's been taken by a plantation owner (DiCaprio).
The rest, my friends, we'll have to wait for, but I'm sure we can bank on some terrific torture scenes, a bar scene, and if we're lucky, maybe even a dance scene.
The movie comes to a theater near you Christmas Day, so plan your church visit accordingly. I mean, nothing says "praise the Lord" like a violent romp through antebellum South, right?
What did you think of the trailer? Interested in seeing the movie?
