Sometimes it seems Bravo is scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to casting its Real Housewives franchise. But in the case of one new member of the New York series, the top of the barrel was tapped. New 'housewife' Carole Radziwill is a Kennedy, y'all. A freaking Kennedy. As in JFK. As in RFK. As in Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. See, Carole was married to Anthony Radziwill, who was the nephew of Jackie O. But that's not all! Carole is also a journalist. A real journalist. (Not like Alexis Bellino.) Carole reported on the Gulf War. She won three Emmys and a Peabody. What the HECK is she doing on RHONY?!
Well, apparently, Carole and Andy Cohen, the franchise's creator, are pals. But even that didn't sell her on it initially. And her friends were -- with good reason -- horrified at the idea. The Housewives aren't exactly known for their classy behavior. As a journalist, Carole does have a reputation to protect. She can't be pulling someone's hair out one day, falling down drunk another, and collecting her Pulitzer on the third.
However, she says she thought about it and began to like the idea. She probably realized what pretty much anyone who is even on the periphery of the media biz knows: Journalism is dyyyyyying. It may actually even be dead. Reality TV, on the other hand, just seems to keep growing, spawning, multiplying, and taking over the universe like some kind of unstoppable virus. If you've got an upcoming book to promote, which Carole does, and if you're in need of money, which according to Carole she is, well, why not?
Carole's friend Christiane Amanpour (yes! her!) told The Daily Beast:
It’s nothing more than a vehicle for her as a working girl to pay her bills and sell her book. She's a single woman. She's got to work.
Carole acquitted herself well on last night's premiere. Will a woman like Carole be able to inject the show with the requisite draaaaama? Maybe we've got enough reality show drama. Maybe, just maybe, it's time for a reality show heroine who shows brains, class, and maturity. I, for one, applaud Andy Cohen for his choice.

And she didn't get much airtime last night. So...
I like her. But let me just say...because you marry someone with Kennedy affiliations, does not make you a Kennedy. She is a woman who is a journalist and has succeeded in her own right! Please let us give her the acclaim ot fame that she justly worked for! it gets tiresome when the only fame women attain is because of their husbands. Please women all over the world work hard and earn the right to say that their work is what sets them apart, not their husbands.
She was married to the nephew of Jackie Kennedy . Jackie and his mother were sisters Bouvine was their maiden name. If she's on the housewives of New York she must not have much class and needs the money or attention. I don't care what housewife show you watch they all lack an education and class. Alex didn't like the word class and I have no idea what school she attended but you can be as poor as a church mouse and still be raised with class = manors.
I thought last night's episode was extremely boring and disappointing.
She's a Kennedy like LuAnn is a Countess.
